I expected a lot from myself this week. I know in time I’ll be proud of this one, but right now I’m happy to feel all of the frustration haha.
After six weeks off the bike, being on the start line was an achievement. I rode three laps last last week and decided I’d give racing a go. A win on Sundays stage was a shock and gave me some confidence for the rest of the race. I left everything I had out there but wow the stages were pedally and my tank was empty.
I had an eventful day yesterday! Lost a little time passing riders. Had to overtake off trail, slammed into a rock so some quick repairs were needed to make it to the next stage on time. Thankfully Iago was starting just behind me and caught up on the transition to help keep me rolling. A crash in the final stage while leading the race was the cherry on top.
Big positive is this handmade cowbell. What a sick prize🇨🇭
