A note about the parking 🙏🏻📜🚘
As many of you know
for the last 3 years we have had absolutely zero parking on site.
Which has been incredibly hard on the business.. and especially my staff. Every single day they’ve had to fight tow truck battles, very real tears and overall just really discouraging moments.
We do not own the parking lot that the cafe is on.
It belongs to a local developer and owner of the apartment building right next to us.
They have decided to open up the parking lot for public use as a pay to park lot 🫶🏼
**I believe there are a few limitations so that their apartment residents are able to still park using their permit**
Where we are located in downtown, there are not many available parking lots or spaces. As we continue to grow
we were really unsure how long we would be able to continue doing this as a business in this location.
The Google reviews accusing us of scamming people..the amount of really uncomfortable towing moments..just kept stacking up.
And we were not sure what the solution would ever be.
It’s been A lot of prayer and surrender.
I am incredibly grateful that we have an option in front of us that finally allows flexibility.

I’ve spent the last 10 years stretching myself in all different directions.
Jumping on a plane to widen my vision
I found myself on the other side of the world and at the end of my camera
watching people more than the structures.
Watching each experience unfold in front of me.
Watching conversations.
Watching strangers linger over coffee.
Watching life happen without anyone rushing it.
While my heart still races with the views of the Piazza Navona
I realized I wasn’t there collecting destinations..
I was collecting new perspective.
This trip was far different than the one I had planned..
and like life..
It had become about everything I was learning in the unfolding
of my own plan.
I would come back with a map written on my heart..
not knowing where it would lead.
But starting was the only option.
Not a blueprint
Not a guarantee
Just a quiet conviction that told me there was more on the other side of obedience.
Every risk taken since then…
Every business built…
Every door walked through..
I can trace back to moments like this.
Just a woman with no destination
just pure faith
and a heck of a lot riding on what could be built.

But the older I get, the more I realize it was never about performance.
It’s about becoming the kind of woman who shows up.
The kind who follows through. Who does the hard thing. Who sacrifices. Who serves. Who builds. Who keeps going when no one is watching because she knows who she’s working for.
The Proverbs 31 woman isn’t a checklist of duties. She’s a picture of faithful stewardship.
And when you look throughout Scripture, you see that same thread everywhere.
Deborah led. Esther spoke. Ruth remained. Mary surrendered. Lydia opened her home and her resources. Priscilla taught. The woman at the well went and told others what she had seen.
Different stories. Different callings.
But none of them hid.
None of them buried what God had entrusted to them.
And maybe that’s something we’ve misunderstood.
Humility was never meant to mean hiding.
Jesus said, “Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.”
Sometimes we confuse humility with shrinking ourselves.
But the gifts God has given you, the experiences you’ve lived through, the wisdom you’ve gained, the things you create, the way you love people, the work of your hands (which I relate to heavily)
these things were never meant to stay buried.
Not for self-glory.
Not for attention.
But for stewardship.
Because influence isn’t a modern invention.
Influence is actually biblical
We’re all influencing someone.
The question isn’t whether we have influence.
The question is whether we’re faithfully using what God has placed in our hands.
Maybe being a Proverbs 31 woman has less to do with fitting into a role and more to do with faithfully saying yes.
Showing up.
Doing the work.
Carrying the weight.
Serving others.
And refusing to hide the light He placed inside of us.
Not so that people would see us.
But so that through our lives, they might see Him.
For me there is no other option
The woman God has called me to become
Needs me to show up, no excuses.
I do everything I said I was going to.

Searching and exploring every little corner and back alley I could find
Trying to stretch my mind into the experience of Rome as quickly as I could.
We only had a couple days
And at this time Chris may as well have been bed ridden
( I’ll have to write deeper on that another time)
I had gone out in search of groceries.. I wanted to cook a meal
In Italy..
something that would ease his mind and bring him back to a place of normalcy.
This was near the end of a handful of days that had been tumultuous (putting it lightly)
I took this on a tiny side street, almost sunset. With my hands full of potatoes, garlic and the only cut of steaks I could find..
and it would ultimately become one of my biggest inspirations for creating spaces that could cultivate this exact feeling.

Reverie
Things I didn’t expect to see more clearly
Things I needed to grieve
Some things I need to let go of
And some things I’m learning now to carry forward in myself.
This trip, this time in my life changed me in ways I’ll never really speak about..
But what I learned very quickly is that so much of our life happens when no one is there to see it.
It’s just you, and God.
Only He knows what your heart is made of.
Only He knows the deepest places you have had to dig..scrape yourself out of with every bit of strength you could find.

The view.
The adventure..but it’s also a reflection of so much pain.
My life felt like it was falling apart, but I was holding everything together with the flimsy pieces of survival I had learned too quickly to even understand
Brace. Avoid looking at it too long. Hide yourself
Keep going. Just keep moving.
Soon I’d come to realize that this version of myself would eventually have to break.
I’d have to let this woman go, so I could make room for God to work through me.
And looking back now, I realize this picture isn’t really about the place.
It’s a reminder that sometimes God does His deepest work in the seasons no one else sees.

God has taught me more in this waiting season than any launch ever has.
This season has stretched me, humbled me, and reminded me that obedience matters the MOST when the doors stay closed.
