Ana Rita Luz, a lecturer and PhD student in Economics at the School of Economics, Management and Political Science at the University of Minho, has been awarded a Fulbright Programme scholarship, with the support of the Foundation for Science and Technology, for the 2026/2027 academic year.
This award recognises the quality of her academic and scientific career, enabling her to carry out part of her research at a higher education institution in the United States of America, thereby strengthening the international dimension of her PhD.
This distinction recognises Ana Rita Luz’s merit and the quality of the research carried out within the EEG’s Doctoral Programme in Economics, helping to strengthen the international standing of the School and the University of Minho.

A Escola de Economia, Gestão e Ciência Política integrou o BIP “Designing an Inclusive EU Future: Sustainable Development, Social Equity, and Policy Innovation”. Entre 22 e 26 de junho de 2026, a Academia de Studii Economice din București, em Bucareste, Roménia, acolheu estudantes de licenciatura, mestrado e doutoramento da EEG, que participaram em seminários, workshops e num programa cultural que promoveu o contacto com a cidade e o contexto local.
O programa promoveu o trabalho em estudos de caso e projetos colaborativos em equipas multiculturais, culminando na apresentação de uma proposta orientada para políticas públicas.
Culmina, assim, um ciclo de mobilidades internacionais de curta duração dinamizadas pela EEG no ano letivo 2025/2026.

The School of Economics, Management and Political Science took part in the BIP “Designing an Inclusive EU Future: Sustainable Development, Social Equity, and Policy Innovation”. Between 22 and 26 June 2026, the Academia de Studii Economice din București, in Bucharest, Romania, welcomed EEG undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students, who participated in seminars, workshops and a cultural programme that promoted contact with the city and the local context.
The programme promoted work on case studies and collaborative projects in multicultural teams, culminating in the presentation of a policy-oriented proposal.
This marks the conclusion of a cycle of short-term international mobilities promoted by EEG during the 2025/2026 academic year.

O 3.º Dia da Graduação da Escola de Economia, Gestão e Ciência Política da Universidade do Minho teve, em 2026, uma edição especial: realizou-se pela primeira vez na EEG, no anfiteatro natural, e reuniu mais de 350 pessoas entre finalistas, famílias, amigos, docentes e colaboradores.
O evento reuniu estudantes de licenciatura, mestrado e doutoramento, que subiram ao palco para assinalar uma etapa que termina e outra que começa. O programa incluiu a palestra “Tenho um diploma. Now what?”, por Gonçalo Lobo Xavier, alumnus da EEG e Diretor-Geral da APED, que desafiou os graduados a olhar para o diploma não como ponto de chegada, mas como ponto de partida.
Entre diplomas, música, reencontros e celebração, este foi um dia de orgulho para toda a comunidade EEG.

The 3rd Graduation Day of the School of Economics, Management and Political Science at the University of Minho had a special edition in 2026: it took place for the first time at the EEG, in the natural amphitheatre, and brought together more than 350 people, including final-year students, families, friends, lecturers and staff.
The event brought together undergraduate, master’s and PhD students, who took to the stage to mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. The programme included the talk “I have a degree. Now what?”, by Gonçalo Lobo Xavier, an EEG alumnus and Director-General of APED, who challenged the graduates to view their degree not as a point of arrival, but as a point of departure.
Amidst degree ceremonies, music, reunions and celebrations, this was a day of pride for the entire EEG community.
