For those that are new, hi! I’m Sandra, but most call me Ms. Batko 🥰
I’m making it a goal of mine to start posting a bit more of my life, the things that we’re doing in class, and everything in between.
As most of you know, I’m a planning time teacher (or prep or specials teacher, depending what your district calls it). I have nearly 400 students between 2 schools and I teach drama/music, science, health, physical education (gym), a sprinkle of SERT (special education), and supplying for 1 day every other week… safe to say I’m a bit busy and all over the place 🤪 otherwise it would be too easy right?! 😂 oh and on top of that I’m a through and through type B teacher 😝 so welcome to the chaos!

For some people this was the best year of their lives, for some it was the worst. For me it was somewhere in between. I’ve had highs and lows; shared joy and laughter with friends and family, re-found my passion of reading, increased my permanent percentage at work, and made lots of new memories, but I’ve also cried, felt heartbreak and loss, disappointment, worry, defeat, and felt like I didn’t do as much as I hoped for... So here’s to 2026 being a fresh start for us all - another year, another chapter to be the best person we can be. To grow, to learn, to explore, to act like a kid regardless of who’s watching, and to be our true authentic selves, because life is too short to care what other people think (and I hope to take that energy with me into the new year). 2026 I have big hopes for you, let’s make it happen 🤍
