If you want to travel to Central Asia...

Learn Russian.

Thank me later.

There, I said it. Is it bad advice? I don't think so.

Could you learn the dozens of languages in the region? Sure! Is that practical? Not so much.

Being overly zealous about patriotism isn't the best way to attract visitors, nor is it a good look. Be kind to others, no matter what language they speak.

Russian continues to be the lingua franca of Central Asia, and its major cities. Will this change one day? Possibly. Is that day today? I don't think so.

I'd be happy to make a follow up video if and when the situation changes. But for now, that's the reality of language in Central Asia.

For those of you who are passionate about the topic: Rather than angrily commenting, try to be cordial please. I learned enough new words in the last post.

Good luck on your language learning and travels,

- ⭐
Happy New Year's everyone!

This year's been crazy. Like actually crazy.

Around this same time last year, I felt like I had lost my direction in life. Lost my then job, apartment, and had one stressful thing after another be thrown at me. It felt like whatever could've gone wrong, had gone wrong. But as they say, whatever doesn't end you makes you stronger.

With a lot of hard work and focus, I was able to finally get up and running, continued travelling the world, and regained my direction. I no longer feel like a penguin lost in the snow.

Against all odds, I made it work in the end. And if you're reading this thinking life is hard, trust me, you'll make it through 🙏

Looking back, I don't think there's much I would've changed. Learned more about myself and the world, (fully) became my own boss, and got to do what I wanted, pretty much when I wanted. I'm so grateful that life has given me these wonderful opportunities. ❤️

For 2026, my goals are simple:

More travel, more quality time with those I love, more money, and finally, more health.

They're pretty loose aims, but I hope to look back in a year and feel like I've made progress on them.

What are your goals for the new year? 😊

Wishing y'all the best,
- Edgar
Extremely grateful ❤️‍🔥

These last couple of weeks, I've been able to spend time with people I care about. The fact I'm able to do this is already something that makes my heart feel warm.

I'm glad that life gave me the opportunity to spend my holiday season in a good way 🙌

If you're reading this during the holidays, wishing you all the best!

If not... I still wish you all the best.

And if you've been a part of my life, read this caption to the end, or even do something as simple as check up on me, I'd also like to say, thank you 🫂

Many exciting things to come,

- Edgar
So this happened...

Yes, marriage brokers are real. Yes marriage markets are real.

And it happens here in China. There's a longgg list of reasons as to why, but just know that you'll have much better luck at finding the love of your life here if you meet society's unrealistic expectations of having a BMW and an apartment and a high paying salary, along with a good education all before the age of 25 🤣

Jokes (or not so jokes) aside, me and my friend ended up randomly stumbling across this sign, and I made a joke about me needing spouse-finding services...

He took it a little too literally and went in to ask about how it works. We were in there for about 15-20 minutes. Did I learn something? Yes. Was it very random and funny? Yes.

Did I find my wife there? No.

Alas, one day she'll come 🥲

Hopefully you'll have better luck at finding love in China!

Side note:
I was trying so hard to hold it in when she went on some next dating app just showing pictures of random girls 😂
I'm so glad to be back 🫂❤️

Kyrgyzstan feels like home.

Only here can I escape to the mountains to clear my mind.

Only here do crazy adventures start out of nowhere.

This is the place where it all started. My travelling, many long term friendships, part of my language learning journey, and my "adult life".

It's all thanks to Kyrgyzstan.

Now that I'm typing this, I also want to shout out all the awesome people that make this place so amazing. Truly, I couldn't have asked for better.

Thank you, Kyrgyzstan. ❤️

Treat yourself, you deserve it ❤️‍🔥

-
Feels so free being on mountains.

Problems feel so much smaller.
Your vision becomes so much wider.

& there honestly isn't any place better to do it, other than Kyrgyzstan.

I'm glad to be back 🇰🇬♥️
The world is so beautiful...

Sometimes I forget that.

At times, I think seeing mountains, sky blue water, and beautiful animals, is all normal.

But when I go back to a city... I begin to miss those things, and I forget what it's like to be around them, until I encounter them again.

It really is hard to explain, the feeling of amazement and excitement after not seeing something for so long. It's like seeing a long distance girlfriend for the first time after many months.

The excitement. The emotion. The feeling.

I wish I was a poet so I could word it more eloquently...

Anyways, Banff is one of the few places that has actually taken my breath away.

I now know that when people say Banff is breathtaking, they mean it literally.

If you have the chance to visit, definitely do so.

You won't regret it.

Along with visiting those places you've always wanted to visit.

They are waiting for you.

Thank you for reading this far!

I genuinely wish you a great day, and many great travels ahead!!!

All the best...
- Edgar
New York really is something...

I can't complain though, it's an awesome city.

If you haven't been, you should definitely go visit 🌟

(Also, the name I'm pointing at in slide 4 is the reason why my crypto is in a slump rn)
After all the late nights, essays, exams, and years of studying, it’s finally here!

I’m genuinely grateful for everything this journey gave me. The knowledge I picked up, the people I met, the experiences I’ll never forget. I’ve always believed life is a journey, and graduation isn’t the end, it’s just the next chapter.

There’s still so much to learn. Whether it’s a new degree, a new language, or finally getting good at cooking... I’m excited to keep growing.

Big thanks to my professors, my university, and life itself for all the lessons.

To everyone else graduating...
Congrats, we made it. 🎉
