The slow road home.
Wild how the day flipped.
Scared shitless at the airbase in the morning, then cruising quiet forest tracks by evening like nothing had happened.
Pretty sure the journey home may never end — and I’m fine with that.
Found the perfect camping spot up a track in the dark.
Little wild boars in the headlights, Jesus they can move.
Me, Dorothy, the roof tent and a fire… life is pretty good. Strange thing I felt calmer there, alone in the dark, than I did at that airbase in broad daylight.
