Dear 8th of July,
we will always have some kind of special bond. You changed me, and I guess over the years I have come to change you and your meaning too. You remind me that pain can be a beginning, not just an ending. That even when everything feel like cracked open, something quiet and strong can begin to grow. I carry you gently now, not as a wound, but as a thread woven into who I’ve become. And every year, you return, to remind me: I lived, I learned, and I’m still here. Because perhaps I wouldn’t be just that. I would be more.
This journey for sure hasn’t been a straight line. And honestly, looking back, I wouldn’t have changed it from what it became. I didn’t complete my degree in the most stereotypical way, but who says there’s only one “right” path? I did it in the way that fit me at the time - in a way that pushed me, grew me, and taught me more than I ever expected, both inside and outside the classroom.
A BKin in Multidisciplinary Science with a minor in Psychology may be that the paper says, but behind that are years of effort, resilience, doubts, learning curves, and so many moments of growth I’ll carry with me forever. It wouldn’t have been possible without the people who stood beside me, family, friends, chosen family, teammates, and mentors. You help me stay grounded, remind me of who I am, support me in all my crazy ideas, and believe in me when I need it most.
This chapter is closing, but a new one is just beginning - one that is full of unknowns, but also full of promise. The building of the future. That’s the beautiful part. We’re here in this life to learn, to evolve and change, to be shaped by what we go through and who we meet along the way. So here’s to change, to growth, and to always keep learning.

Paris, and the whole journey up until, has truly proven that whatever ups and downs comes your way, it’s in your ability what you turn it into. “In the end heart counts for everything, in fills the gaps and cracks around the past, and all we have is the present where belief fills in those gaps.” All I can tell you is, it’s worth it. Being brave. Putting yourself out there. Following your heart. Letting down your walls. Risking failure. Continuing anyways. Exploring new opportunities. Choosing courage over fear. Giving yourself a chance to discover what’s out there in this world for you. Not settling for less. Even the stories that don’t have a happily after, are still worth telling. Loving and hoping is worth it. Feeling is worth it. Trying is worth it. Not holding back. Not minimising yourself or your dreams. Not always taking the safe and easy road when your heart is pulling you in a different direction. It’s worth it. You’re worth it. You are the only limit to your own ability, and don’t deny yourself the chance to truly live.
But while you hold a lot of power within yourself, you’re way stronger beside other people. Therefore I just want to direct my most sincere gratitude towards my closest who support, believe, and love me, unconditionally, for who and all I am. Thank you. I love you and wouldn’t be fully who I am without you.
