Hidden behind a coffee shop that looks like a house. 🔦
You gotta walk around to the backyard and you order through a little window and it kinda feels like you’re up to no good.😶
In a few minutes, out comes these massive Schiacciata bread sandwiches that are so big they’re like a full Italian Meal packed between bread. They’re perfect for sharing, but you’ll probably regret sharing they’re so good.

Sandwiches are $15 each but don’t be fooled, it’s a massive sandwich! Filled with meat, veg and delicious cheese and house made sauce. Truly a must try sandwich. I got the Prosciutto piazza with their signature pistachio cream! The porchetta paninaro with pistachio cream and spicy eggplant. And last I got the tartufo trance with thick slices of pecorino. ’s sandwiches are MASSIVE and made with top quality ingredients, all layered on to the MOST PERFECT house-made schiacciata (the bread, which is #notfocaccia)
First thing’s first, I couldn’t resist trying the Moda Mortadella ($15) fully loaded with lots of mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio cream, and pistachio crumb. Honestly, it was perfect for me. We also tried the Milano Mingle ($15) fully loaded and ultra ultra creamy with salami, artichoke cream, house made spicy eggplant and a super innovative pecorino cream. Big creamy & big yum!
Also who can resist the Notturno Nutella ($12) dessert sandwich with Nutella, marscapone and pistachio crumble. This would be SO good toasted as the weather gets cooler.
Paninaro is a very welcome addition to Ottawa’s food scene and a new gem in. I can’t wait to go back and try their other sandwiches.
