Do not skip the Meatballs della Nonna. They are truly some of the best meatballs I have ever had and taste like pure nonna level comfort. The pizza is a unique Heritage Post Neapolitan style, a blend of Neapolitan and New York that is light, crispy, and incredibly flavorful. It is baked in a massive wood fired Marra Forni Vesuvius oven and made with dough crafted daily from Italian 00 flour and Texas heritage grains.
I also loved their take on an Italian margarita, the unforgettable 20 layer Lasagna Moderna, and the tableside tagliatelle alla ruota. Honestly everything was exceptional. Finish with the three layer chocolate cake because it is rich, decadent, and absolutely worth saving room for.
Moderna strikes that perfect balance between refined and homey Italian. Thoughtful plating, classic flavors, scratch pasta, craft cocktails, and a menu that respects traditional Italian cooking without unnecessary twists.

1. Lake Austin Lights at Mozartâs Coffee Roasters
Mozartâs turns Lake Austin into a full Christmas experience with thousands of lights, holiday music, live storytelling with a Nutcracker style narrator, and even a fire show. You can also book a boat ride to see the lights from the water which feels extra magical. The entire lakeside setup is decked out and truly one of Austinâs most iconic holiday traditions.
2. Ice Skating at The Long Center
My favorite rink in town. You get beautiful views of the Austin skyline during the day or at night and itâs the largest rink Iâve found. Such a perfect holiday moment.
3. Austin Trail of Lights at Zilker Park
An Austin holiday staple. I do this every year and it never gets old. Walk the trail, ride the Ferris wheel, sip hot cocoa, and bring the whole family. It always puts me in the holiday mood.
4. Frostyâs Christmas Bar
This newer Christmas pop up inside Tiger Lilly is, in my opinion, the most decked out holiday bar in town. I already love this space and the holiday transformation makes it even more special. The drinks are always amazing and the decor is unreal.
5. Miracle on Fifth Street
One of my all time favorite Christmas bars in Austin. They go big with the holiday decor every year and the vibe is always festive and fun. They also serve a Reuben sandwich with tomato soup and I get it every single year. A must.
