Three years ago, I walked in on day one with nervous excitement, a brand-new badge, and no idea just how much I would be challenged and changed. These past three years have been full of long nights, early mornings, tough calls, hard losses, small victories, and moments of connection I’ll carry forever.
Residency taught me to think critically, act decisively, and care deeply. I learned from incredible mentors, brilliant colleagues, and, most importantly, from my patients and their families who trusted me with some of the hardest and most meaningful moments of their lives.
As I say goodbye to this chapter, I’m incredibly grateful for all it’s given me. And now it’s time to do it all over again! Three more years of fellowship, three more years of learning and growing, and three more years of unexpected connection!
None of this would have been possible without the people who held me up along the way. To my friends who listened to the vents and celebrated the wins, and to my family whose love has never wavered - thank you!
You made these years not just bearable, but meaningful!!

My name is Tara Jamieson. I am a doctor (pediatric resident) in Boston. But this isn’t always who I thought I would grow up to be. Frankly, I became a
pediatrician, so there is a part of me that will be a child forever.
I have been a music therapist, a medical student, and now a doctor. A performer, a writer, and a creator. And all of these things embody who I am as a person.
As I look back on the past year, i realize how much has changed. I’ve grown so much as a person, been heart broken, and somehow I’m putting the pieces back together again. All I can promise you is that I will be myself, and thank you for allowing me the space to share my story with you.

As I sit on Cape Cod with some of my incredible co workers whom I now have the pleasure of calling friends, I’ve looked back on just how much I have growth this year.
Intern year has been filled with incredible highs and lows, but I couldn’t have done it without the amazing friends and family that I am so lucky to have.
While I still have 2 months to go in intern year because of my visa delay, I can wait to see what the next few years bring me as a physician!
