But one of the most meaningful lessons I learned over the past 18 months through the Executive MBA program is that creating and scaling true value requires far more than individual excellence alone.
The program challenged me to learn alongside leaders from entirely different industries and walks of life whose strengths, perspectives, and experiences were often very different from my own. It was both humbling and invigorating, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity and for the incredible friendships that came from it.
The EMBA fundamentally changed how I think about leadership, innovation, and impact as an academic facial plastic surgeon. But the greatest growth I experienced was deeply personal. These past 18 months were some of the most physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding of my life.
Balancing a mature and busy facial plastic surgery practice, resident and fellow education, local and national leadership roles, and a baseline 60+ hour workweek- all while navigating family, motherhood, and the postpartum period- stretched me in ways I never anticipated. Theo was just 6mos old when this journey began and he turned 2 today 🥹.
One of my mantras in life is: “How you do anything is how you do everything,” which meant I could not get through the EMBA with any chill. So I am especially grateful to my husband for his unwavering support through all of this, and to the rest of our village ( looking at you). Y’all, I promise, this is my last go at school.
Today, on Mother’s Day, I’m reminded that the greatest lesson I hope to teach my children is that while life may not always be balanced or easy, it is possible to pursue ambitious dreams, lead with purpose, love your family deeply, and still believe that you can do it all.

She underwent a facelift with another surgeon about twenty years ago and wanted to clean up her jawline again. We also did a temporal browlift, upper bleph, and lower lid skin pinch to balance out her glow-up.
We are over the moon 🌙 with her early results (what a historic week for science, by the way!) and looking forward to watching her progress as bruising/swelling improve and incisions fade.
Fat grafting was an important part of her procedure and my next post will be all about what you need to know about micro and nano fat transfer - don’t miss it!

it will be located on the first floor of 535 reach blvd. the center is just under 6000sq ft and our floor plan is almost completed! the space will feature tons of natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, an amazing waiting area/reception space, spacious consult rooms, 9-10 exam/treatment rooms, soundproof booths for when we do virtual visits with our out-of-state patients, and a private VIP entrance. if all goes well, we will start to see patients here in nov/dec 2026 🙏

The nasal tip represents the the most difficult part of the rhinoplasty operation.
Bulbous or droopy tips cannot just be “shaved off.” They almost always have to be entirely reshaped!
A droopy nasal tip can result from several different reasons:
👃 Elongated tip cartilages oriented downward
👃 Excess cartilage above the tip pushing downward on the tip cartilages (i.e. upper lateral cartilage/scroll region or anterior septum in a tension nose)
👃 Weak tip support (i.e. weak lower lateral cartilage attachment to the caudal septum)
👃 Thick skin with weak underlying support
👃 Hyperactive depressor septi nasi muscle activity, which pulls the tip down, particularly with smiling
Management of the tip structure therefore requires precise diagnosis of the cause(s) and treatment - it is certainly not a one size fits all!

She had a combination of issues resulting in a droopy tip and just for the tip alone, I performed:
- a caudal septal extension graft to stabilize the tip
- cephalic trim, a combination of lateral crural steal and medial crural overlay, intradomal and interdomal sutures, to reshape the entire tip cartilages
- bilateral alar rim grafts and camouflaging soft tissue triangle grafts to ensure a smooth nostril arch
Tip refinement takes the longest to occur after rhinoplasty (18-24 months) but she is thrilled and well on her way!

A dream house. Midcentury modern with coastal vibes for the girl from NY and the boy from LA living in Columbus, Ohio.
The upstairs was the perfect nursery-primary suite for the two precious kids we brought into the world while living here.
We’ll never forget all of the pool parties and get-togethers we hosted over the years. As well as all of the heartaches of living in a vintage home (with flat rubber roofs #iykyk).
I spent so many nights sitting on that dining table prepping for surgeries, creating talks/lectures, and putting in the work to build a dream facial plastic surgery practice. Started a fellowship. Got promoted from assistant professor to associate. Then to full professor.
We turned 40 here. Entered midlife.
So we randomly bought a house and moved!
It’s the end of an era ❤️

At this stage, most facial aging changes like jowling and neck laxity are still somewhat mild. So while it may seem “too early,” there is a wonderful opportunity to leverage ✨skin quality✨.
In your 40s, facial and neck skin typically still has good elasticity, which means it responds beautifully to repositioning. And as a result, the lift lasts longer, letting you enjoy the benefits for many more years to come.

Three years ago, when I first proposed a women’s workshop after becoming Chair of the WFPS Committee, the idea was turned down due to a lack of space.
But then…
🩷 we had record-breaking attendance at the past two WFPS annual luncheons.
🩷 for the first time in history, more women matched into AAFPRS fellowships than men did.
So space was made.
I’m deeply grateful to everyone who helped bring this dream to life.
I hope we will continue to honor and amplify the distinct experiences of women surgeons as we shape the future of our field. Thank you for giving us the space to connect and collaborate!

If you’ve been following me, you know that my philosophy is ALL about natural refinement. But to be clear, natural doesn’t mean “little or no change.” Natural means seamless.
Natural means when people see you, they notice your face, your confidence, your presence- not your nose.
And sometimes, a natural result can be a dramatic one.
