The subject of human trafficking was at the center of the conversation with amazing speakers shedding light on the fact that no society is safe from human trafficking, whether in person at public places or online with susceptible young people being lured and tricked into dark places. What was very sobering was that human trafficking is alive and thriving in most American cities including Washington DC
Thank you to all who participated and shed light on this important problem.
Yalda was the kind of person who touched everyone’s life in the most positive way, whether her patients, colleagues, friends, and family, she gave a 100%.
Over the past fifteen years that I have known her, I have cherished the moments of friendship that we shared, the conferences that we organized, and the charity work that we worked on together. She was a consummate professional, very passionate about her work and her patients. She upheld the highest ethical standards and always created the most wonderful environment for the people around her including putting together an amazing first-rate cadaver course to teach injectors how to inject patients properly and safely.
On a personal note, I was immensely impressed by all her achievements, clinically, academically, and personally. Even though I consider her a close friend, my feeling are not unique. She had countless friends in our community and beyond who cared a lot about her because she was such a giving, honest, and true friend.
Yalda, I will miss you a lot, and know that you are in a better place. Amen🙏
