Did you know you can stay in a 13th century convent in the heart of the Alps? โ›ช๏ธ๐Ÿ”๏ธ

This beautiful hotel is set within a beautifully restored former convent, offering a rare blend of history, tranquillity, local cuisine, and authentic alpine atmosphere โœจ

The cloisters make you feel as though you are stepping back in time, while the church remains perfectly preserved, with intricate details dating back hundreds of years.

It is an ideal base for skiing if you prefer not to stay directly on the slopes, but instead in a relaxed and charming village. Bardonecchia is less than thirty minutes away, while Sestriere and Salice dโ€™Ulzio are around forty five minutes from the door โ›ท๏ธ

The rooms are filled with antique furniture sourced from markets across northern Italy and France, with prices starting from just 90 euros per night. ๐Ÿ’ซ
Another one of my favourite underrated Italian cities ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Bologna is one of the most characteristic cities in Italy and that is exactly why a trip there is always unforgettable. Warm, lived in, and deeply authentic, this is a city that feels real in the best possible way โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Known as La Dotta, La Grassa, and La Rossa, Bologna is rich in knowledge, food, and character. Medieval towers rise above endless porticoes, creating a cityscape that feels intimate, historic, and effortlessly beautiful. Walking here is a pleasure, sheltered arcades, terracotta tones, and hidden courtyards around every corner ๐Ÿ›๏ธโœจ

The food scene is on another level. This is the heart of Italian cuisine, home of tagliatelle al ragรน, tortellini, mortadella, and some of the most honest, comforting food you will ever eat. Fewer tourist traps, more family run trattorias, bakeries, and markets where locals still shop daily ๐Ÿ๐Ÿท

Bologna has a young, creative energy thanks to one of the oldest universities in the world, mixed with a deep sense of tradition. Sit in a piazza, order a coffee or a glass of wine, and watch daily life unfold around you. It is vibrant without being chaotic, lively without losing its soul โ˜•๐Ÿท

Climb the Torre degli Asinelli for panoramic views, wander through the Quadrilatero, or walk under the porticoes all the way to the Sanctuary of San Luca for one of the most rewarding city walks in Italy ๐ŸŒ‡๐ŸŒฟ

Bologna does not try to impress, and that is exactly why it does. It is an Italy that feeds you, teaches you, and makes you feel welcome beyond the postcards ๐Ÿค

Have you been to Bologna? If yes I want to know your favourite places to eat or things to do there ๐Ÿ˜
London really does pubs better than anywhere else ๐Ÿบโœจ Are you more of a cosy traditional pub person, or do you prefer more of a modern gastro pub? ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿท

Let me know what is your favourite pub in the city as Iโ€™m trying to add more to my 2026 list!
Save for your next trip to Bruges ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ›Ž๏ธ
This hotel has some of the most striking canal views in the city and is perfectly located close to all the main attractions. I stayed in room 4, a deluxe room, and it is absolutely worth spending a little extra for these views.

Even if you are not staying here, the restaurant is still worth a visit. It serves classic Belgian dishes in a beautiful, elegant setting and is the perfect spot for a relaxed meal by the canal. ๐Ÿด
Just got back from Bruges and instantly fell in love with it! ๐Ÿฅฐ Itโ€™s one of those cities that feels almost unreal, and that is exactly what makes it special. No rush, no noise, just calm canals, cobbled streets, and a sense of history everywhere you turn โœจ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช

The architecture is incredible. Medieval buildings, gothic churches, and perfectly preserved streets that make the whole city feel like an open air museum. Every corner looks cinematic and every walk feels like you have stepped back in time ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The canals are the heart of the city. Quiet boat rides, reflections on the water, and bridges that feel straight out of a fairytale. It is slow, peaceful, and impossible not to fall in love with ๐Ÿšค๐ŸŒฟ

And then there is the food. Belgian waffles, chocolate, fries, and cosy cafรฉs where you can sit for hours with a coffee or a beer and just watch the city go by ๐Ÿซโ˜•๐ŸŸ

Bruges feels timeless. A place that does not try to impress, yet somehow stays with you long after you leave. Easily one of my favourite cities in Europe.

Have you been to Bruges? If yes I would love to know what you loved most about it.
The one and only ๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡งโœจ is it on your list for 2026?
Did you know that Riquewihr in Alsace is often said to be the European town that inspired Beauty and the Beast? ๐Ÿบ With its colourful houses and fairytale streets, it really does feel like walking straight into a storybook ๐ŸŒนโœจ
Turin is the most underrated city in Italy and that is exactly what makes it special. No crowds, no chaos, just elegance, culture, and real Italian life โœจ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

It has some of the most beautiful architecture in the country, with grand boulevards, historic arcades, and palaces that feel more Paris than Italy. The city is incredibly walkable and every street feels cinematic ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The food scene is also incredible. This is the birthplace of aperitivo, gianduiotto chocolate, and one of the strongest coffee cultures in Italy. Fewer tourist menus, more places locals actually eat โ˜•๐Ÿซ๐Ÿท

Turin is surrounded by nature. One minute you are in the city, the next you have Alpine views, river walks, and green hills that most visitors never expect. Also donโ€™t forget to walk through the Parco del Valentino and spot the incredible wildlife ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ

It is rich in culture with world class museums, royal history, and deep intellectual roots that have shaped Italy and helped it become what it is today ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ“š

And maybe the best part for me is that it still feels authentic. Sit in a cafe, order an espresso or an Aperol Spritz, and experience an Italy that exists beyond postcards ๐Ÿคโ˜•

Have you been to Turin? If yes I want to know your favourite things to do there!
ad When it comes to restaurants, Pimlico is one of Londonโ€™s best-kept secrets ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ It feels like a true local neighbourhood, with no tourist crowds, and just great spots where you can relax and enjoy good food.

This has definitely been one of the perks of living at ๐Ÿฌ
