This video has 3 different mobility exercises using a foam roller with emphasis on spinal mobility. Try them out and set your body up for success for the week π
π€Έ The body and spine were designed to MOVE. If the spine isnβt moving properly it can lead to all kinds of stiffness and pain throughout the body. Other areas of the body, such as the hips and shoulders, may compensate for this lack of movement, potentially causing decreased efficiency in these joints. This can manifest as impairments in mobility, strength, or pain. Pain is NOT normal.
π¦Ύ Put your body through new motions and challenges to keep it strong and mobile!

π This video has 2 exercises that emphasize shoulder mobility with a focus on the chest musculature. Try these out to set your body up for the rest of the week.
π¦Ύ Tight pectoralis muscles can cause the shoulders to roll forward, rounding shoulders in an unoptimal position. Stretching these anterior muscles can help to release tension in the posterior chain, including upper back, shoulder, and neck area.
π§ While this exercise canβt fully fix posture, it can help the process. Posture is a neurological muscle control test of the mind and body.

π Do you have sensations of tingling or numbness down your arm and into your hand? Does it feel like your hand falls asleep? Does your neck feel tight?
β If you answered yes, thereβs a chance that you may have nerve irritation, or a pinched nerve. There are multiple nerves that run down the arm into the hand, and they all originate from the neck (cervical spine). These nerves can become irritated at different sites along its path and require a professional to identify where.
πͺ The patient in this video had neck stiffness due to muscular imbalances in the shoulder region, which was causing neck stiffness and numbness into the hand. The exercises in this video are advanced end-stage exercises in their personal rehab program.
βΎ Secure your health.

π A torn muscle does not always mean surgery. The patient in this video is a great example of how physical therapy can help avoid surgeries. This video shows a patient who had a partial, yet still significant tear of the pectoralis major muscle. The patient was having difficulty raising their arm and experiencing a lot of pain. After going through a full physical therapy program with me, we are back to push-ups, bench press, and most importantly, we are able to avoid surgery.
πͺ This video shows the end stage of rehab for this injury, which took a lot of work and dedication to get to this point.

β This video has 3 exercises that I frequently prescribe in rehab programs for neck pain.
𧬠There are many different causes of neck pain such as muscle strains, disc herniation, instability of the cervical spine, decreased mobility of the thoracic spine, arthritis, etc.
π Finding the root cause of where the neck pain is coming from and why is important in order to heal.
πͺ Find a health care professional that can diagnose the root cause.
