Women may experience heart attack and stroke symptoms differently than men and in some cases, those symptoms are ignored when communicated.
Women are also less likely to receive bystander CPR during a cardiac emergency!
This was a reminder for me and now sharing with you all so that together we learn the warning signs for heart attack and stroke, and remember that hands-only CPR could help save a life.
Heart attack symptoms may include:
❤️ chest discomfort
❤️ shortness of breath
❤️ extreme fatique
❤️ nausea
❤️ pain in the jaw, neck, back or arm
❤️ sudden numbness, confusion, trouble speaking, severe headache or vision changes
For CPR: Remember that you are the first responder until help arrives. ❤️ This song is the perfect beat for CPR!

In my remarks, I shared the privilege of being among the ~2% of people in the U.S. with a doctoral degree - and the responsibility that comes with it. We also talked about uncertainty, growth, and what it means to step forward anyway.
✨“You did not wait for perfect certainty. Or maybe you did—and learned an important lesson as a result.”
I shared with them the lessons I've learned about comparison, resilience, confidence, and most importantly courage. I reminded them that
“The world does not need another version of someone else.” It needs what only YOU can do.
So proud of this group of graduates and so hopeful for what’s ahead. 👩🏽🎓
