Als Hochzeitsplanerin habe ich gesehen, was es bedeutet, wenn Gäste zu spät kommen – und was es für das Brautpaar bedeutet, wenn alle rechtzeitig da sind: Ruhe. Würde. Und die volle Aufmerksamkeit für ihren Moment.

18 Jahre Doreen Winking Weddings – ein Blick zurück. Und nach vorn.

Am 1. Juli 2007 habe ich den Schritt in die Selbstständigkeit gewagt – mit dem klaren Ziel, mich als Hochzeitsplanerin in Deutschland zu etablieren.

Zurück aus Südafrika, voller Ideen, Energie und dem festen Willen, etwas Eigenes und Besonderes aufzubauen.

Heute, 18 Jahre später, kann ich sagen: Ich bin meinen Weg gegangen. Ein Weg, der viel Einsatz, viele Entscheidungen und noch mehr Ausdauer verlangt hat.

Ich durfte unzählige Paare auf ihrem großen Tag begleiten, ein starkes Netzwerk aufbauen und an Aufgaben wachsen, die man oft erst versteht, wenn man sie gemeistert hat.

18 Jahre Selbstständigkeit in der Hochzeitsbranche bedeuten Organisation, Verantwortung, Kreativität unter Druck. Es ist ein Beruf, den viele unterschätzen.
Denn es geht nicht nur um Blumen und schöne Fotos – es geht um Vertrauen, um exaktes Timing, starke Nerven und ein großes Herz.

Nicht jeder ist für diesen Weg gemacht. Und das ist auch okay. Aber wer ihn geht, weiß: Es ist kein Zuckerschlecken. Es ist echte Arbeit – mit echter Bedeutung.

Natürlich gab und gibt es auch Herausforderungen.
Corona hat unsere Branche tief getroffen – das darf nicht unerwähnt bleiben.

Aber was zählt, ist, dass viele von uns weitergemacht haben. Leise, fokussiert, und mit einem ungebrochenen Anspruch an Qualität.

An dieser Stelle ein aufrichtiges Dankeschön an alle Kolleg:innen, Partner:innen, Dienstleister:innen und Kund:innen, die diesen Weg mitgegangen sind. Ihr wisst, was dieser Beruf bedeutet – und was er zurückgibt.

Ich blicke nicht laut und nicht überheblich zurück – aber mit aufrechtem Blick.

Denn 18 Jahre bedeuten Erfahrung. Entwicklung. Vertrauen. Und die Lust auf alles, was noch kommt.

Warum kurzfristige Absagen mehr sind als nur eine höfliche Nachricht

Als Hochzeitsplanerin mit 18 Jahren Erfahrung weiß ich:

Eine Hochzeit ist mehr als ein Fest – sie ist ein Versprechen, ein emotionaler Höhepunkt und oft auch eine logistische Meisterleistung.

Und gerade deshalb ist Verbindlichkeit ein stiller, aber entscheidender Wert – nicht nur für das Brautpaar, sondern für alle, die dieses Fest möglich machen.

✅ Ja, es gibt gute Gründe, eine Hochzeit abzusagen – Krankheit zum Beispiel.

❌ Aber nach all den Jahren erkenne ich: Nicht immer ist das der wahre Grund.

Was viele Gäste nicht wissen (oder verdrängen):

Catering, Locations und Ausstattung brauchen spätestens 10–14 Tage vor dem Termin die finale Personenanzahl
Jeder leer bleibende Stuhl kostet Geld – oft mehrere Hundert Euro

Aber noch wichtiger: Er kostet auch Emotion. Denn jede Absage ist ein kleiner Stich ins Herz des Brautpaares, das mit Liebe und Freude eingeladen hat

Mein Wunsch:

Lasst uns Hochzeiten wieder mit dem Respekt begegnen, den sie verdienen. Verlässlichkeit ist ein Geschenk – und manchmal das größte, das man einem Paar machen kann.

Wedding Content Creator: Ja oder Nein?

Immer mehr Hochzeiten werden heute von sogenannten Content Creators begleitet – für schnelle Reels, emotionale Clips und Social Media Highlights.

Für viele Paare ist das ein echter Mehrwert.

Aber: Nicht jeder möchte intime Momente sofort online sehen. Und das ist völlig okay.

Wichtig:
Das Brautpaar steht im Mittelpunkt – nicht die Dienstleister.

Wer Content produziert, sollte vorher klären:

– Was darf gezeigt werden?
– Was bleibt privat?
– Ist alles mit dem Foto-/Videoteam abgestimmt?

Der beste Content entsteht mit Respekt, Feingefühl und einem klaren Briefing.

Dann wird der Tag echt, emotional – und unvergesslich.

Das war letztes Jahr und sicher einer meiner beruflichen Glücksmomente. Nach all den Monaten ohne Hochzeiten, vielen Verschiebungen und Tränen hat es sich einfach nur fantastisch angefühlt.
