We might be heading for the beaches of Spain right now but that doesn’t stop us dreaming of the upcoming ski season!
The first trip Bowie ever went on as a tiny puppy was to stay at in Whistler BC & we had the best time!
We didn’t want to waste the chance for a little skiing & spa time though but Bowie was definitely too young to be left behind 🐶 That’s when I discovered & have used them ever since.
They provide lots of dog sitting services to suit everyone including solo dog walks, group hikes, daycare & 1-1 sitting.
They even have the option of coming to your actual hotel room so you don’t even have to drop your dogs off somewhere & they get to stay comfy!
I’ve used both the hotel sitting service & sent Bowie to a local sitters home instead. Both times Bowie was so well looked after, I got loads of video & photo updates so I didn’t have to worry about him at all 🥹
They work on an hourly rate & were really flexible on timing.
Whistler is SO dog friendly it feels such a waste to leave the dogs behind, with this dog sitting service you get to go guilt free skiing & then spend your apres ski with the pups!

🇫🇷🇬🇧 We’ve taken 3 times now to & from the UK and France, it is by far my favourite way to cross with a dog!
The fact it only takes 35 mins in the comfort of staying in your own car is just the easiest experience, it‘s especially good for reactive dogs who want their own space ☺️
👉 Here’s some facts to know before taking with your pets:
1. Try & avoid peak times!
We’ve always travelled early in the morning which has meant the pet reception has no line ups & the temperature is nice & cool to avoid overheating on sunny days 🤒
2. You can use EU pet passports or Animal Health Certificates ✅
Bowie now has a French pet passport but we’ve used both kinds of documents on & had no issue, just make sure they’re filled out correctly!
3. Entry into the UK requirements proof of tapeworm treatment 24-120 hours prior to entering so make sure to book a vet appointment ahead of travel 🧳
4. No foot passengers ❌
Unfortunately you do need a vehicle to cross on the Eurotunnel, if you don’t have your own you can take pet taxis who organise crossings both ways!

Today we went to the beach but the water was too rough for swimming & my arm was getting so tired throwing the ball…
So I came up with my own fun game to play instead to get Bowie’s brain working & tire him out 🐶
✅ Scent games are so good for combining mental enrichment with physical activity which is the ultimate winning combo for our dogs.
👉 If your dog doesn’t already have a ‘STAY’ type of command you can work upto this or have someone hold them on leash whilst you hide the toy.
👉 Bowie does also have a specific ‘FIND IT’ command for these types of games but if your dog is driven enough to want their missing toy, they’ll likely happily go searching without extra commands!
I started easy with just small distances & keeping the ball less buried and worked up to harder sets!
Bowie was so tired & happy afterwards (with a nice Sandy nose to show for it 😂)

Not all local beaches are dog friendly here but there’s plenty of ways to enjoy the sun & sand with your furry friend, just steal this guide below:

- Platja de Montgo
Walk to the left of Cala Montgo beach you’ll find the real hangout, a beautiful walk along the rocks of the bay where locals & their dogs choose to soak up the sun & swim (including a dog friendly pebble beach)
- Platja del Rec
This nearby beach is dedicated to our dogs! Here you’ll find half of this long Sandy beach allocated especially for dogs to enjoy 🐶
2️⃣ Hikes/walks
- Mirador de la Punta del Milà
To the right of Cala Montgo beach you’ll find an easy 1 hr out & back coastal walk overlooking the beautiful bay. Dogs allowed & you’ll find your own private beaches along the way but do keep dogs leashed as the cliff edge is not fenced.
- Torre de Montgo
A steep but short hike to a epic lookout & historical tower/war bunker 🌅
- Road of Ronda
Passeig Doctor Pi i Llussà - This 6.5km stretch of walking & biking path passes an endless amount of beautiful beaches & even Roman ruins! A must do, you can even start & finish by the dog beach 🐾
3️⃣ Restaurants
All of the restaurants in the bay of Cala Montgo are dog friendly as the good weather = patios where you’ll find less restrictions on furry diners.
We particularly enjoyed a dinner at, perfect for enjoying the locally caught fish of the day 😍

Building up my travel emergency first aid kit for my dog Bowie has been such a peace of mind for me!
Now that I feel I have a pretty great kit (will share the full kit in a video soon), I’ve been more proactive with taking some easy to carry essential items on hikes & outings.
This is a list of what I personally like to take on smaller hikes (less than 3 hours ish). For anything bigger or overnight I may considering packing more emergency gear ⛑️
All items are from & ☺️
1. Small bandages & tape (plus tape scissors!)
This is probably a no brainer but an easy part of your pet emergency kit to add in a bag for hiking. It weighs nothing & can be used for small wounds that need to be wrapped.
2. Styptic sticks
This is my favourite thing of all! A styptic is a specific type of antihemorrhagic agent that works by contracting tissue to seal injured blood vessels. These little cotton buds with solution are so handy for stopping small bleeds like a torn nail or a cut paw pad.
It might need more treatment but this can help stop the bleeding until you’re home safe.
3. Antiseptic wipes
Again another no brainer item, if there are any small cuts to treat, these can be used to clean the wound & importantly YOUR hands too to minimise infections.
4. Protective Boot
Another favourite hiking item, these protective boots are designed to be used in the case of an injured paw. If your dog does get a cut or torn nail, after cleaning & bandaging, this boot will help keep it covered to avoid dirt & them licking the area preventing more injury on the way home.
5. Pet first aid guide 🐾
This mini guide book from is part of their first aid kit (which I LOVE), I like to pop it my bag in case I need help in what to do as problems arise. If my dog got injured I know I may be prone to panicking & so having this little book will help me check what to do!
Remember this isn’t a full first aid kit, I do have one that I’ll share in another post. This is just my personal mini pack of things I think are worth the extra weight/bag space on little hikes ☺️

This was the airline I originally planned to fly to Paris with Bowie, but at the last minute he grew above their weight limit of 33lbs 🙈
It’s a French commercial airline called & they’re known for being one of the most dog friendly flights, here’s why:
1️⃣ As all seats are business class with more room, there’s a higher hand luggage weight allowance which you can use for a dog in carrier upto 33lbs/15kg
2️⃣ Carrier dimensions are 21 ⅔ x 13 ¾ x 9 ⅚” but if the dog is within weight limits they’re known to allow bigger bags such as the XL
3️⃣ It’s not policy but they’re most famous for allowing dogs to come out of carriers after take off & snuggle in the beds with owners, just check out their insta page for some cute dogs on flight! (This is at the discretion of the cabin crew though, your dog should be prepared to stay in carrier all flight worst case!)
4️⃣ Pets fly for 10% of the ticket price with max 3 pets per flight
Whilst sadly this is still only a small-medium dog flight, it’s almost double what other commercial flights allow, plus they accept snub nose breeds like frenchies & pugs 🐽!

🐶 Unless your dog is 9kg or under there’s almost no options at all for flying in the cabin anymore in the US. Thankfully one option remaining is.
Pros:
- JSX are a hop on private charter operator, meaning no busy airports, long lines or waiting for luggage. You can arrive 20 mins before the flight which means way less stress for your dog!
- They allow dogs upto 79lbs in the cabin at the cost of an additional seat. No carrier needed, just keep them leashed & with you!
- Small dogs that fit in a 13x11x17” carrier fly for only $100.
Cons:
- Whilst they do fly across the US they don’t do direct West to East coast flights so you do have to make a few changes along their routes.
- Sadly with max at 79lbs they aren’t inclusive of all dogs but it’s definitely a huge amount more than commercial 🙌🏻
