Grooming day for Niamh 🌟

Huge thanks as always to our amazing groomers, Ana & Iris who made Niamh feel like a new girl after her groom on Friday ✂️

Poor Niamh came into the sanctuary as a stray a couple of weeks ago - her coat was so badly matted & rock hard on her back that it must have been causing her so much discomfort 💔 Niamh was also very nervous of the clippers so it took a lot of patience, breaks & distractions (thank you Iris for dancing for Niamh 😅)…but as soon as the matts were removed, Niamh was zooming around the salon! Grooming is so much more than vanity & all about moments like this.

Thankfully, Niamh is off to her new home next week & we couldn’t be happier for this little ball of sunshine! ☀️
**UPDATE: RECLAIMED**

DOG FOUND - Now safe in Dogs Aid

This dog was found running through traffic on the Swords road at Whitehall church. Not microchipped. Proof of ownership required.

Please share or contact Maggie at the sanctuary if you know who owns him -.
MILEY 🌼

Breed: Jack Russell
Age: 10
Sex: Female
Size: Small

Our little lady, Miley, is looking for a 5 star home 🌟 Miley was surrendered to the sanctuary in January alongside 2 other female dogs through no fault of their own. Miley is the last of the 3 dogs left waiting for a home. Poor Miley has been overlooked & has been waiting for 130 days ❤️‍🩹

Miley may be 10 years young & have a few grey hairs, but she is a busy little lady who has plenty of pep in her step! In typical terrier style, she loves her sniffy afternoon potters & loves keeping watch of all the comings & goings at the sanctuary 😅 She adores company so would benefit from someone home a good portion of the day. We can see Miley just loving a little bed in the sunshine beside her human and watching the world go by. This girl is so deserving of all the love and care in her golden years 🫶🏻

🏥 Like any of us with age, Miley has a couple of health issues that are currently being managed with medication

🏠 As Miley is a senior lady, we think she’d prefer a calmer home with older children / teens +

🐾 Miley can live with another dog/s pending a meet and greet. No cats or small furries!

If you’re interested in adopting Miley, please visit the sanctuary anyday 1-4pm (except Tuesdays, we are closed). No appointment needed. If you’d like further information, please RING Maggie at the sanctuary on. We are based in Meakstown, D11E674.
One whole year of Grooming with a Purpose ❤️🐾
A year of wagging tails, muddy paws, sleepy cuddles, second chances, and so much love.
A year of filling our hearts with a special kind of joy. Making us laugh, sometimes cry, but always reminding us why we do this. ❤️
A huge thank you to for organising everything and to all the incredible volunteers who made this possible - bringing the dogs for their pamper day, supporting us, and helping us with the "goofy once" 😄❤️
Every dog that walked through our door left a paw print on our hearts.🐾
Some shy, some broken, some wild, some goofy… but every single one beautiful and deserving of love.
Thank you to for trusting us to be part of their dogs’ journey.
Here’s to many more years of pampering these beautiful rescue dogs. 🥰✨
If you would like to help, volunteer, adopt or support, please contact Dogs Aid Animal Sanctuary and let’s unite.
We may not be able to change the whole world, but together we can absolutely make a difference. 💪❤️

9 months in her new home… and look at Dorothy now 💛🐾
This beautiful golden oldie is thriving ❤️
Senior dogs are so often overlooked because of their age, but Dorothy is proof that older dogs still have so much love, happiness and life ahead of them.
All they really ask for is comfort, kindness, a cosy bed, and someone to love them through their golden years ✨
Nine months later, Dorothy is enjoying exactly that her little retirement life, full of love, peace and care 🐶
Please don’t forget about the senior dogs. Sometimes the older souls are the most special of all 🩶

WILL (aka Willow) 💙

Breed: Collie
Age: 4 years old
Sex: Male
Size: Large

(Microchip no. )

Our sweet boy Will has been through a lot the last few months & as a result, needs a home that can help rebuild his trust and confidence ❤️‍🩹 Will is a gentle & affectionate boy. As he is a Collie, he is super clever, playful & full of energy. He just adores his playtime - his favourite thing is a ball or toy to play fetch! 🎾

Will would love a home that understands his breed & can give him the structure, exercise & stimulation he needs to thrive ❤️ He is great on lead and a joy to walk. He would benefit from a home with experience who are happy to work with Will & give him the time and patience to settle.

🐶 Will gets on well with most other dogs but would be
best suited as the only dog in the home setting
🎾 An active home that can give him regular exercise,
stimulation & of course playtime!
🏠 Suitable to live with Teens + / Adults only
⚠️ No cats or small furries please!

If you’re interested in adopting Will, please visit the sanctuary anyday 1-4pm (except Tuesdays) - no appointment needed. If you’d like further information, please RING Maggie at the sanctuary on. We are based in Meakstown, D11E674 (2 min drive from Charlestown Shopping Centre)
✨ New hair, feeling cute ✨

A little pamper for some of our forever dogs 💙

Rosie, Buddy & Finn are part of our long-term Dogs Aid family, and for nervous dogs, grooming salons can sometimes feel a little too overwhelming. Thankfully, they have someone they know and trust 💕

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteer Lynn, who lovingly grooms “the old and the bold” here in the sanctuary. It’s not just about looking good it’s about patience, trust, kindness and helping these dogs feel safe 🐶✨

And judging by those faces afterwards… they know they look fabulous 😍

We always have kind people reaching out on ways they can support Dogs Aid. If you would like to help, please see a below the list of items we always use 😊

🐾 FOOD: Red Mills Engage Salmon and Rice mixed with a very small bit of Pedigree Chum tins. We would be so grateful for any bag or tin donate.
🐾 LEADS: Slip leads when walking our dogs as we find they are the most secure. We do not use retractable leads. We do accept regular clip on leads as we sometimes use them to extend our slip on leads.
🐾 COLLARS: clip fasten collars work best for us. A mix of sizes 😊.
🐾 TOYS: Due to the number of dogs playing with the toys and to avoid any incidents of swallowing parts, we only use very robust toys. Kong do the most durable toys. For the dogs in the run we play with them using tennis balls, footballs or basketballs ⚽️
🐾 BLANKETS: Each dog has a blanket going to bed each night. Coming into winter it takes ages for blankets to dry and as such it's important we have many spares. Small and medium baby, dog and house blankets/throws are greatly appreciated. We also use towels for drying the dogs.
🐾 VET BEDS: Under the dogs blankets there is a vet bed. This is a thick and fluffy base, similar to a carpet. Similar to the point above about blankets, these often have to be washed so we need to ensure we have spare. Vet beds are bought in a roll and are cut to size at the sanctuary to fit the kennel.
🐾 POO BAGS: Poo bags are always used when out walking the dogs. It's important that we look after the planet so biodegradable ones are our favourite!
🐾 BLUE ROLL: We try use as much reusable material as possible when cleaning the kennels e.g. towels and cloths. However for cleaning up any accidents blue roll is always used.
We apologise if this comes off pushy but when people's money is hard earned we want to make sure it's going to good use ❤️

Stockists include; Petmania 🇮🇪, The Pet Parlour 🇮🇪, Mutts.ie 🇮🇪, Amazon, Petstop, Maxizoo, Zooplus. PLEASE SUPPORT IRISH WHERE POSSIBLE.

These items can be dropped to the sanctuary between 1-4PM every day except Tuesday or if you would like to get it delivered please message us 😊
