Story time….

I started reading Jordan when I first immigrated to the US in 1990. I was 8 and my older brother introduced me. (He is the one to blame for my Sanderson collection).

Reading WoT was one of the few things I remember doing that was “fun” before my dad passed when I was 14. We were refugee kids from Zaire, working in my dad’s metal working foundry, and times were tough for some immigrant folks in rural Tennessee.

Fast forward a few years and I was the one who found my dad at 14 after he had passed away in his sleep, watching Creflo Dollar, while my mom, brother and I were out for the evening at an event.

The scene with Rand holding his dad against the tree felt so visceral for me, because I had lived that exact moment as a 14 year old, but my dad didn’t make it out and it wasn’t a fever dream…

I spent the next few years very much relating with Rand Al Thor, my twin brother was 100% Matrim, and my older brother was the spot on character match for Perrin. We were Ta’Veren, lol. Seriously. It was hysterical, ridiculous and really meaningful for us in the midst of a wild space.

Hell…we had a full time band named Ta’Veren and even opened for the Beach Boys in front of 65K people once for a Stadium of Fire show in Provo. Another story for another time.

Needless to say, the Wheel of Time was everything for us before, during and after my dad’s death. It took a us 6 years to get our green cards and my dad passed 6 months later. It’s all connected. The wheel weaves…

It was the thing that lead me to and this community.

So, when I saw that painting of Rand holding Tam while looking through the leather bound at DSNX I had to have it.

And…now I do.

Lo and behold, the pride if my collection, the ORIGINAL oil painting by

Thank you to and the entire Dragonsteel Team for such wonderful art. It’s such a gift to be able hold our loved ones again. Art is everything.

Hey friends, it’s a wild time to be alive, isn’t it? So much has been happening both personally and professionally. So much has been moving in and around me.
.
Everything is going well at home — kids are healthy and we’re living well. Our practice has grown and we’ve had a number of exciting opportunities emerge — all of which have been incredible. But managing growth does come with a different set of challenges. And as I’m sure you know, I am on my own journey toward wellness and self-care.
.
In the midst of the growth we’ve experienced this year, we have hosted more webinars, are collaborating with more creators and have just launched a weekly newsletter with the hope of staying connected and engaged with all of you as we continue on the journey of becoming more whole, together. With that growth, I wanted to take a moment and re-introduce myself to those of you who may be new here.
.
I’m Dr. Jerome. I create spaces that guarantee you can feel loved and safe.
.
I am an Identity Rehab Specialist and a Personal Trainer for your brain. Simply, my work involves helping you foster the connection between your brain and your body, your physiology and your psychology as well as resourcing and optimizing you to be a healthier human with that awareness.
.
In the midst of being a provider for those with complex cases, a parent of three incredible kids, and a committed partner…I am still very much navigating my own experience as a patient. This year has continued to require me to “practice what I promote”. More than ever. Sometimes the self-care process is easy. Sometimes it is fought for tooth and nail. Sometimes you aren’t even sure how to get your bearings. This year has, transparently, included all of those experiences. My mantra for this year has and continues to be, “Therapy is not about hurting less; it is about recovering faster.” I hope we can continue to recover, heal and restore our brains and bodies, together.
