Advanced skin treatments; microneedling, chemical peels, lasers, PRP, polynucleotides, work by stimulating repair, collagen production, and skin renewal.
But UV exposure directly undoes that work.
Tanning beds and unprotected sun exposure:
• break down collagen and elastin
• worsen pigmentation and melasma
• increase inflammation and delayed healing
• increase the risk of post-treatment complications
• accelerate skin ageing,even if you’re “young”
So if you’re investing time, money, and effort into treatments while continuing UV damage, you’re essentially asking your skin to heal and harm itself at the same time.
In my clinic, sunscreen isn’t a “nice extra”, it’s a non-negotiable part of treatment planning.
Not because I’m strict, but because I want safe, effective, long-term results.
If you’re not ready to commit to daily SPF and stopping tanning beds, that’s okay, but the right plan is to pause advanced treatments, focus on barrier repair, education, and skin health first.
Good skin isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing the right things consistently.
Protect first. Treat second.

Not out of rebellion. Out of self-preservation.
Three years as a self-employed locum GP taught me two things:
1️⃣ Burnout is real
2️⃣ I need options
This is my first NHS role since qualifying in 2022, part-time, with a team I already know, under conditions that don’t make my nervous system panic.
Being a portfolio GP basically means I have too many interests to stick to one job and I’ve stopped pretending that’s a flaw.
NHS GP.
Private GP.
Aesthetics.
Content creation.
Same doctor. Different hats.
This setup gives me stability and enough life left to eat, drink water, and still make it to padel after work.
If you’re in medicine and quietly wondering if there’s another way, there is.
Part 2 on what a triage GP actually does? 👀

Five years ago, I looked “fine.”
But as a doctor, I know now,I was in survival mode.
High cortisol. Poor sleep. Always pushing. Always coping.
Each year, the change wasn’t my face, it was my energy.
Calmer eyes. Steadier weight. Better boundaries.
Less inflammation. More regulation.
Longevity isn’t about anti-ageing.
It’s about:
• lowering stress
• protecting muscle
• regulating hormones
• choosing consistency over extremes
That’s real health.
That’s what lasts.
Every version of me did her best with the tools she had.
This version just has better tools, and better boundaries.
If you’re not seeing “results” yet, look closer.
Your body is keeping score.
Save this if you’re done living in survival mode.
Share it with someone who needs to hear this.

Here are the 5 skin mistakes we’re leaving behind in 2025:
1️⃣ Treating pigmentation without sun protection
This is the biggest mistake I see clinically.
UV exposure (yes, even through clouds and windows) keeps pigment cells switched on.
No SPF = pigmentation relapse.
No exceptions.
2️⃣Doing advanced skin treatments with zero home care
Lasers. Microneedling. Injectables.
Then… no routine?
Clinic treatments start the work, results live at home and are maintained by consistency.
3️⃣ Skipping SPF because it’s cloudy / winter / indoors
UV damage happens daily and silently.
If you’re using actives or investing in treatments, SPF is non-negotiable.
One missed habit can undo months of progress.
4️⃣Over-exfoliating because “it tingles”
Burning, stinging, or peeling is not glow.
It’s inflammation and barrier damage.
Calm skin heals better, ages better, and responds better to treatment.
5️⃣Buying viral skincare without knowing your skin type
TikTok skin ≠ your skin.
Trends don’t know your barrier, your acne triggers, or your pigmentation risk.
Random products = random results.
✨ 2026 skin rules (save this):
• Protection first
• Barrier always
• Treatments are a bonus, not a shortcut
• Consistency > trends
If your skin feels “stuck,” it’s rarely because you’re not doing enough,it’s usually because one of these foundations is missing.

They look harmless at first. Even mature. Even kind.
But they quietly drain you.
Jumping to conclusions.
People-pleasing.
Swimming with the flow instead of standing somewhere solid.
Running after closure.
Trying to fix, carry, or understand more than the other person ever does.
You don’t get a medal for this.
You just get tired.
So many people aren’t burnt out from life
they’re burnt out from emotional overtraining.
From over-functioning in places that require mutual effort, not sacrifice.
If something constantly leaves you anxious, confused, or questioning your worth,
that’s not growth.
That’s your nervous system waving a red flag.
For 2026:
Retire emotional sports.
Choose clarity over confusion.
Boundaries over burnout.
And effort that meets you halfway.
Side effects may include peace, self-respect, and finally feeling like yourself again 🩺✨

From NHS clinic mornings, to a quiet brunch in between, to aesthetics clinic afternoons, and finishing the day at the gym.
Two roles. One doctor.
GP by training, aesthetics by passion, learning how to hold both, honour both, and still make space for myself in the process.
This year stretched me in ways I didn’t expect, but it also taught me balance, discipline, and the importance of looking after myself as much as I look after others.
Grateful to every patient who trusted me with their health and their skin, and proud of the life I’m building, one intentional day at a time.
Closing 2025 tired, grounded, and quietly proud.
Wishing you a peaceful Christmas and a gentle end to the year 🤍✨

Advanced skin treatments can do incredible things,
but they are not magic and they don’t replace daily skincare.
If you’re not cleansing, moisturising, and wearing SPF consistently, your results will never reach their full potential.
Get your skincare right first.
Then treatments actually work.
Save this before your next appointment 👀

But it’s always interesting how quickly people link competence to a “look.”
Apparently, young looking skin, a calm presence, and looking well-rested still reads as medical student to some.
In reality, I’m a 30-something doctor with 8 years of experience — years of training, responsibility, and learning how to care for people properly.
Including their skin.
Because good skin isn’t accidental.
It’s consistency, science, and understanding what your skin actually needs, not trends, not shortcuts.
So yes, my skincare is doing its job.
And so am I 👩🏽⚕️✨

I’ve spent years working as a doctor in the NHS, but I chose to specialise further in aesthetics and skin because I wanted to combine my medical background with something I’ve always been passionate about: skin health, confidence, and the art of natural beauty.
What I love about aesthetics is the balance between science and artistry. For me, it’s never about changing who you are, it’s about enhancing what’s already there, restoring balance, and helping you feel comfortable in your own skin.
My philosophy is always skin-first and holistic. Every treatment I do is tailored to the individual, rooted in safety and evidence, and designed to deliver results that look subtle, natural, and authentically you.
But more than just treatments, this journey for me is about creating a space where people feel seen, supported, and empowered, because real beauty isn’t about perfection, it’s about confidence and embracing yourself exactly as you are. 🌿✨
