Whether a body was donated willingly or reached a medical college under unfortunate circumstances, it deserves dignity and respect. Thousands of doctors learn from a single cadaver, making an invaluable contribution to medical education.
This is not about being against dark humour or freedom of speech. It’s about understanding that when such remarks are made publicly, they don’t just reflect on one individual, they influence how society views the entire medical profession.
One person’s opinion may be their own, but it should not come at the cost of the dignity of those who taught us our very first lessons in medicine, nor should it tarnish the image of the entire fraternity.

A stroke happens when the blood supply to a part of the brain is suddenly blocked or when a blood vessel in the brain bursts and causes bleeding.
Since the brain controls movement, speech, memory, thinking, and many other important functions, a stroke can affect any of these abilities.
There are two main types of stroke:
• Ischemic Stroke - caused by a blockage in a blood vessel that cuts off blood flow to the brain
• Hemorrhagic Stroke – caused by bleeding inside the brain due to a ruptured blood vessel
Stroke is a medical emergency. Brain cells begin to get damaged within minutes, and unlike many other cells in the body, they have very limited ability to recover.
This is why early treatment is so important. The faster a patient reaches the hospital, the better the chances of recovery.
Even after treatment, some people may continue to experience long-term problems such as weakness or paralysis, speech difficulties, memory issues, or difficulty performing daily activities.

Many families notice symptoms but decide to wait, hoping things will improve on their own. But every minute is crucial in treating stroke and saving a life.
Remember BE FAST:
• **B– Balance problems or sudden difficulty walking
• **E– Eyesight changes or sudden loss of vision
• **F– Facial drooping or weakness on one side
• **A– Arm or leg weakness, especially on one side
• **S– Speech difficulty or slurred speech
• **T– Time to reach a hospital immediately
If you notice any of these symptoms in yourself or a loved one, do not wait for them to go away. Early treatment can significantly improve recovery and, in some cases, prevent permanent disability!

The reality is that Ebola is a very serious disease with a high fatality rate, but it spreads very differently from COVID.
• Ebola is NOT a new virus — outbreaks have been happening in parts of Africa for decades
• It usually spreads through direct contact with body fluids, not through the air like COVID
• Fruit bats are considered the natural reservoir of the virus
• Deforestation and increased human-animal interaction increase the risk of outbreaks
• Symptoms can initially look like fever, body pain, vomiting, or diarrhea, but severe cases can rapidly progress to internal bleeding, shock, and multi-organ failure
One important reason Ebola has remained mostly localized is that its spread is much less efficient compared to airborne viruses. At the same time, the fatality rate is extremely high, which also limits widespread transmission.
The WHO has placed recent outbreaks under public health emergency monitoring because the disease is dangerous and requires strict surveillance, screening, isolation, and contact tracing.
But this does NOT mean a global lockdown or another COVID-style pandemic is likely.
Panic and misinformation spread faster than viruses on social media.
Always be aware and stay safe!

• Do NOT hold them down or try to stop the jerking movements
• Never put a spoon, keys, water, or your fingers inside their mouth
• Gently turn them onto their side to keep the airway clear
• Remove nearby sharp objects to prevent injury
• Loosen tight clothing and give them space instead of crowding around
One of the most important things: TIME the seizure.
Most seizures stop within 1–2 minutes. But if it lasts more than 5 minutes, or happens repeatedly without the person regaining consciousness, it can become a medical emergency called status epilepticus — a dangerous condition that can lead to permanent brain injury if not treated immediately.
After the seizure ends, don’t force water or medicines until the person is fully awake and alert. Stay calm, reassure them, and arrange medical help if needed.
Awareness about first aid during seizures is extremely important because sometimes bystanders unintentionally cause more damage while trying to help.
Knowing what NOT to do can save a life!

For some people, coffee can actually help relieve a migraine.
During a migraine, the blood vessels in the brain dilate, and caffeine works by causing those vessels to constrict again. That is why caffeine is also added to many common painkillers.
But at the same time, caffeine itself can be a trigger in some people.
And one more important thing people ignore — caffeine withdrawal headaches.
If you drink a lot of coffee regularly and suddenly skip it, the headache you get may simply be because your brain is missing caffeine.
1–2 cups of coffee per day is generally okay for most people. But drinking 3–4 cups daily and then suddenly stopping can increase the chances of withdrawal headaches.
So coffee is not always the enemy in migraine… but excess, irregular intake, and dependency definitely can be!
