Back in March invited me to join their ‘Fresh Cuts’ for a 48 hour film hack challenge. Simply put, 2 teams of 3 creatives were given a brief to produce a short form piece of content to sit on Instagram. My team was set their challenge by and it was to be completed on the Lumen. They had to produce a story of riding 4-5 trails at a ‘normal pace’ not highlighting how fast you go up but more how enjoyable the climb is and how natural it feels using the motor to save energy for more playtime during the descent.’

The team of, and Finlay Anderson spent the first evening conceptualising an idea and collectively came up with the concept of creating ‘my perfect day.’ The 5 key scenes they thought of were the eggcellent idea of a double yoker, surprisingly good weather, perfect tire pressures, a full eBike battery and the very last cinnamon roll from. I’d then ride a mix of terrain, visiting Glentress first to ride the purpose built trails and then after head over to the more natural and bigger landscapes of Gypsy Glen to really showcase the Lumen’s capabilities.

Day 1 was spent primarily filming all the ‘perfect day’ scenes - these always take longer than you think and then after a few coffees, the first of the riding at Glentress. We finished up about 5:30pm and the team spent the evening roughing out their edit until around 11pm. The following morning we were up and out the door, trail ready by 8am to begin ascending Gypsy Glen for the finishing pieces, we spent about 3 hours shooting and then they worked the rest of their time till the deadline of 6pm editing, colour grading and adding in sound design.

The result, a fun short story of cracking day out on the Lumen. Enjoy some B.T.S. moments of the crew at work captured by. The program is such a unique opportunity and this challenge was just one of many parts and challenges the team have to create!
Coming up in June is Round 3 of. We’d love to see as many women at these races as possible, so come along for a ride with us, scope out the trails at Dunkeld, and sign up to race! 🙌

Here’s the deets:
- Sunday, 7th June ready to ride by 10am (Meet at the Upper carpark at the Hermitage)
- Bring plenty of food/water
- E-bikes are more than welcome, but know we’ll be riding at a social, analogue pace
- Non-racers are welcome to the social ride
- Ladies are welcome to bring their bf/husband/pal if they would like to. It’s women-focused, but we’re not against friendly guys joining if they’d like a social pedal too
Note: we will not be specifically riding the race trails, it’s just a way to get used to the terrain/style of riding available at Dunkeld

Let us know in the comments if you’re coming along! 🙌

Day 4 of Developing the Young Workforce. We made a new finish berm on Braveheart’s Fury.

New Pilot Programme to Give Kinlochleven Pupils Hands-On Experience in Scotland’s Mountain Bike Industry

A new pilot programme launched in Spring 2026 will give pupils at Kinlochleven High School the opportunity to gain real-world experience in trail building, event delivery, and outdoor careers through a unique mountain biking initiative.

The trail building project forms part of the innovative From Trail Concept to Enduro Event programme — a Developing Young Workforce (DYW) partnership initiative led by the DYW team within the West Highland Chamber of Commerce and Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS), alongside Lochaber Trails Association, Forestry and Land Scotland and CRC Trails and draws on methodologies from the international DIRTT (Developing Inter-European Resources for Trail building Training) project.

The innovative programme will see seven pupils from S1 to S3 take part in a blended learning experience combining classroom sessions, online learning, and hands-on trail construction. Participants will work alongside industry professionals to understand how mountain bike trails and events progress from initial concept through to delivery.
This time last week a group of our volunteers were completing their DIRTT Dig Leader Training hosted by.

A brilliant course that helps us take the steps needed to be able to host public volunteer days.

If you are keen to get involved drop us a message, join our whatsapp group or watch out for announcements here.

Huge thanks to the Forest Manager Robbie for giving up his time to join us and facilitating such a brilliant course.

And as always, big thanks to for making it all happen.
Back in March, our Fresh Cuts trainees Finlay Anderson, and, took on the 48 Hour Film Hack, creating, filming, and editing a project for in just two days.

Working alongside, the team created a fun, fast-paced take on the “Perfect Day”.

The group really tapped into Scotty’s unique style of content creation, producing a cleverly crafted take on the “Perfect Day”, from a double yolker in the morning to chasing down the last cinnamon roll at the bakery, all with the Scott Lumen SL at the heart of the story.

Huge thanks to Scotty for getting fully involved and supporting the team throughout and of course, Scott Sports for setting the challenge!

Have a watch and read more about the challenge in our blog (LINK IN BIO), where you can also check out (in case you missed it) Team 's race series promo reel ' There's no Day Like Race Day', also created as part of the same challenge.

Would your perfect day look like this? 😍
