I’m always on the lookout for better options for me and my little ones and when I saw Ciao Pappy’s sauces with no added sugars that still taste like someone actually stood at the stove I knew I needed to try them out.

Ciao Pappy’s Marinara Classico does exactly that. What really drew me in was the story — a father–daughter duo, inspired by family recipes and Italian roots, creating a sauce that’s simple, thoughtful, and full of intention.

The Classico is bright and tomato-forward, with garlic and basil that feel clean, balanced, and timeless — the kind of sauce you can build anything around.

So naturally, I made a baked gnocchi and it was chef’s kiss.

Instructions:

Cook gnocchi per package instructions, warm the sauce in a pan and coat the gnocchi, top with cheese, transfer to an oven-safe dish, and bake at 400°F for 10 minutes. Cozy, effortless, and deeply satisfying.

Save this for your next easy dinner night and let me know if you’ve cooked with Ciao Pappy yet 🍝✨

Swipe ➡️ and settle in — Sagartoki is meant to be savored 🥚✨

This is the kind of place where the room hums, the bar stays busy, and eggs somehow steal the show.

To eat, we had the following:

• That iconic pintxo de huevo frito: crispy chistorra tucked into silky huevo frito, where the yolk breaks and everything melts together — salty, rich, indulgent. An actual explosion in your mouth.
• The championship-level tortilla de patata with cebolla, golden, soft, and deeply comforting.
• Beher jamón, sliced thin and melting on the plate.
• Rabas fried just right, with a citrusy aioli that cuts through and keeps things light.

We’re big believers in champagne with food, and Louis Roederer Collection 245 was a great addition to the meal. And because some rituals don’t change, we wrapped the night with a perfectly made gin & tonic.

Sagartoki is the vision of Senén González, a Basque icon who took traditional flavors and gave them bold, playful energy. What began as a humble pintxo bar became a benchmark — twice named Best Pintxo Bar in Spain — and still feels warm, lively, and effortlessly cool.

Come hungry. Take your time.
And whatever you do, don’t skip the huevo frito pintxo.
Save this for when you’re in Vitoria. 🖤

Popped into De Pita Madre for an easy meal, and it’s the kind of place you immediately file away for future meals. Casual, quick, and clearly thoughtful about ingredients and flavor — great for eating on the spot, but just as good to take home.

Here’s what we had:

• De Pita Madre menu — a great way to try a bit of everything

• Falafel pita — the standout:
– crisp on the outside, soft and herby inside
– fluffy pita
– cucumber, tomato salad and dressings

• Falafel plate — just as good, and easy to share

• Seasoned fries — simple, hot, and hard to stop eating

This is one of those reliable spots you’ll come back to for a quick lunch, an easy dinner, or when you want something comforting without thinking too hard.

I’ve walked past El Gran Asador Lecanda more times than I can count — and last week I finally went in 🥰.

A modern, Basque-inspired asador where everything revolves around the grill, quality product, and doing things properly. Located in the Salamanca neighborhood, Lecanda is known for its ember cooking, top-quality sourcing, and a menu that lets ingredients speak for themselves.

We ordered a bit of everything:

• Signature bread, warm and filled with melted butter
• Garlic soup with smoked anchovy on crisp toast
• Jamón and their pillow-style picos
• Grilled tomatoes with ventresca — sweet, vibrant, and one of my favorite dishes of the night
• Tudela artichokes, tender and earthy
• Angulas del Miño, simple and special
• Galician lobster salpicón, with the head left so you can mix in all that flavor
• Salamanca Angus chuletón — fire and salt, done right
• Cortado and mini desserts to finish (the chocolate with chopped almonds was the star- think a Crunch chocolate bar)

The dinner highlighted classic technique, beautiful ingredients, and cooking that speaks for itself.

Save this for your next special dinner in Madrid. 🍷✨

There’s a special kind of magic happening at Hasaku — the moment you walk in, you feel it. A bright, open space with that perfect balance between lively and cozy, setting the stage for a meal that blends Peru with Chifa and Nikkei the way only Chef Jhosef Arias can.

A few highlights from the table:
• Wantan Frito – Tusan: the kind of crunchy bite that stops conversation.
• Sopa Especial: comfort turned all the way up — rich, warm, and deeply satisfying.
• Acebichado Roll: fresh, vibrant, and lifted by that signature zingy acebichada finish.
• Siéntelo: smoky, savory rice with just the right hit of sweetness.

By the time we stood up to leave, the dining room had completely filled — always the sign you’ve landed somewhere worth knowing. Hasaku is the kind of place you think about after the meal ends, and definitely one I’ll be returning to. And while I’d happily order again straight from the menu, their executive lunch for 14.90€ has an amazing selection and even includes some of the dishes I tried.

If you love Korean fried chicken and bold pan-Asian flavors, Chuck Chuck Chicken in Madrid is absolutely worth the stop. Their whole concept is Korean-style fried chicken meets flavor inspiration from across Asia — and you really taste that in every dish.

One thing that makes them truly unique: you can choose every flavor with either wings or full chicken breast pieces. We did two bowls with chicken breast and one with wings, and it was such a game changer — the breast stays super juicy with that crunchy coating, and you still get all the saucy flavor.

What we ordered:
— Gangnam Style: their take on sweet–spicy Korean wings, glossy, sticky, addictive.
— Mostaza & Miel: creamy mustard + honey sauce that kids would LOVE. Sweet, mild, and definitely one to order.
— Green Chili Mayo: sweet at first, then the heat comes through. Bright, balanced, and one of my favorites.
(Highly recommend mixing wings + breast across flavors.)

And do NOT skip the sides:
Corn Ribs — sweet, smoky, charred, covered in cheese. An absolute must.
Chuck Chuck Fries — spicy, punchy, full of flavor and heat.
Chicharrón & Padrón — crispy bites with blistered peppers… and yes, some of them pack a serious kick.

And just to be clear — it’s not just Korean sauces. Their menu pulls flavors from across Asia: Thai, Japanese, Sichuan, and more, so every bowl feels totally different and intentional.

And the fact that they give you gloves to dive in? Honestly such a nice touch — makes the whole experience more fun (and way less messy).

Perfect spot for sharing, snacking, and letting the sauces do all the talking.

A Coconut Grove classic that never misses. GreenStreet Café has been part of my Miami story since before high school — the spot we’d sneak off to during free periods because nothing felt cooler than grabbing pancakes and coffee in the middle of the day.

All these years later, it still hits the same. The pancakes are unmatched (banana, chocolate chip… you really can’t go wrong), the home fries are a must every single time, and for whatever reason the coffee here just tastes better — like the definition of a cozy weekend morning.

Now I get to share it with my little crew, watching them fall in love with the same plates I’ve been ordering for years. Coconut Grove buzzing around us, a table full of pancakes, and grandparents soaking it all in — truly the perfect kind of Miami morning. 🌿✨

Here’s to the places that feel like home, no matter how much time passes.

Soft-opening vibes last week at Honey Veil in South Miami — what started as a food truck roaming Miami now also has its first brick-and-mortar location (📍5748 Sunset Dr).

Born from a sourdough-bread idea between sisters, Honey Veil has grown into Miami’s newest matcha obsession: ceremonial-grade matcha from Japan, blended with syrups of choice and finished with that dreamy honey whip.

I ordered the Vanilla-Honey iced matcha latte — smooth, lightly sweetened with their honey-vanilla bean syrup, and topped with honey whip making it totally unforgettable.🍵💛

They’ve also brought over a small lineup of pastries from their food-truck days — think warm sourdough cinnamon rolls and soft banana-bread bites that pair perfectly with the matcha.

Mom & foodie mode: ON — she’s here for the opening, I’m here for the matcha moment.

Watch through the end to see Isabel’s taste test reaction.
