This was Caelum’s first insulin injection by the way… he has always been confident to wake me up and hand me glucose when I’m low during the night, but obviously, injecting insulin into me when I’m asleep brings its own kind of fear.
I can just briefly remember being slightly awake with a 6 foot man knelt down next to my bedside table rummaging around 😂😂😂
It’s not something I expect of him, but when I woke up I did feel a warmess in my chest, a love for him being so brave in that moment that made me proud of him!
Our friends and family with T1 loved ones can bear the burden of T1D, they can’t carry all of the load, but they can definitely carry some of it.
They can feel our anxieties, fears, frustrations just as we do.
I’m glad to have woken up that morning with my blood sugars in range. I trust him to know the limits to the amount of insulin I have in my system, and when to step in and take control, and when to leave it to my decision.
It’s a funny one, and each person will have their own boundaries with what control they allow another person. I know I can trust caelum with near enough anything (maybe not cooking) and wanted to share this appreciation post with you guys ❤️❤️🔥
Merry Crimbo & happy new year guys ❤️

Sometimes it’s about curiosity, travel, and finding practices that help you feel more connected to your body.
In this episode of Beyond the Numbers, Milly shares her journey with type 1 diabetes - from diagnosis, to travelling to India, to discovering yoga as a tool that helped her tune into stress, movement, and glucose patterns in a different way.
This isn’t about replacing insulin or technology.
It’s about adding layers of understanding, awareness, and self-trust alongside them.
Yoga became one part of Milly’s wider diabetes toolkit - helping her notice early hypo signals, manage stress responses, and reconnect with her body after years of feeling ruled by numbers.

Because diabetes management looks different for everyone - and sometimes, the most valuable insights come from lived experience, not just data.

I posted stories on this yesterday and thought it’d be good to log it onto my official page, it’s not the first time it’s been spoken about, it’s even on my page 2 or 3 times. But what’s different this time is that I made sure to log my time in range to reflect back on the previous cycle.
The biggest things that stood out to me:
• My TIR dropped from 91% to 83% moving from follicular to luteal phase
• My insulin requirements increased by 3 units on average per day moving from follicular to luteal phase
but there has to be a DISCLAIMER to this post… every body is different, works in different ways, every person has a different way of managing their own body. With that being said, the research is there staying luteal phase is a pain in the a** for us with menstrual cycles, specifically those who manually control their insulin and glucose levels.
If you have any health and wellness companies, apps, podcasters etc etc that you think would be good to shed some light on this, tag them in the comments below!!

Pretty dark when you actually sit and acknowledge what you’ve been through - not something I do often because when I’m sad I really really get sad, and I don’t want to waste time dwelling on what’s happened because it’s already done.
I love thinking about the positives, that I’ve made it this far, that I’ve had such an influence on not only others around me but you guys around the world too. I’m still living, I’m still smiling, and I embrace the fact that this horrible experience I went through in my early 20’s is what keeps me fighting today.
