Jasmine Fernandez’s ‘Joints of Domination’ exposes how supermarket surveillance abstracts the human body into a skeletal map, turning bones into currency and retail spaces into data extraction sites. Nearby, Léonie Sanchez’s ‘In/Mano’ collection reimagines the dress glove through everyday garments, integrating the wearer’s hands to shift silhouettes, postures, and gestures by inverting the body-clothing relationship.
Kimia Amir-Moazami’s ‘Buffered __access’ uses a looping video essay and a sculptural Persian-inspired cable carpet to navigate the invisible legal and emotional boundaries governing diasporic bodies. Taking on a different environmental scale, Adi Friedman Yaron’s ‘Breathe Within the Unbreathable’ features breath-controlled inflatables to probe how toxic or constrained environments politically coerce our bodily rhythms.
Louise Liu’s ‘Between Leaving and Returning’ utilizes compressed spaces and exposed circuits to critique state intervention in family structures, staging a confrontation between the body and state-enforced intimacy. Finally, Ethen Wu Ben Abda’s ‘P-Generated’ presents the PE.E Lab, a personal laboratory challenging centralized sanitation taboos by reclaiming urine as a potential resource for circular futures.

DAE’s Do Make students brought hands-on, circular design methodologies to the project, working alongside Peacock’s network of over 50 local artisans. Following end-of-term reviews, three winning students travelled to Egypt with Estela to produce their prototypes directly in the factory. In the images, you can see the lamp developed by Amalia Vrazoupoulou, the colored table legs by Francisca Mazzuferi and the shelves by Primo Arets.
This exchange connects our academic research with international production infrastructure, reinforcing how sustainable design and regional heritage enrich one another ✨
Led by Professor Ian Biscoe, TRL will build ‘Operaland’, a persistent virtual world constructed entirely on open Web 4.0 standards. Built to integrate with TRL’s award-winning XR-IT framework, this open infrastructure ensures European cultural institutions can own and develop their digital environments directly, free from corporate vendor lock-in.
Using opera as its research lens, VOPUS investigates the long-term social impacts of virtual spaces, offering cultural institutions new ways to expand their reach beyond physical borders.

The intermezzo is more than a theatrical break. It’s a moment of recalibration where observation becomes active participation. Here, our alums treat material, social, and ecological conditions not as fixed structures, but as spaces open to creative resilience, reflection, and radical intervention.
🔊 Sound on to hear Martina discuss how the collective scenography turned the “interval” into a strategy for new ways of making and knowing.

On May 18 and 19, first and second year students from Studio Silva Systems spent two hands-on days building with debris. They worked with fragments from destroyed sites in Ukraine alongside materials from deconstructed buildings in Eindhoven.
Led by Fellows Kateryna Lopatiuk and Tiphaine Bedel, the workshop asked an urgent question. When a fragment is displaced, does it mourn its origin, or does it begin a new story?
The result was four collective installations and a series of conversations on circular design, material memory, and making something new from what has been destroyed.
Students discovered that materials carrying very different histories can still speak to one another. Each fragment kept its own memory while finding a new purpose, showing how reuse can become an act of care as much as an act of construction.

Today’s selection sees four bachelors projects touching upon the topic of technology and knowledge around it. Anouk Sébastien’s ‘Becoming a Noob’ (re)introduces creatives to the terminal through web-to-print zines and workshops, bypassing corporate software houses to champion autonomous, sustainable digital practices. Carlo Palacios Gimeno’s “C U L8R” revives the fragile, customizable aesthetics of the early 2000s internet. By transforming dormant desktop archives and an.mp3 into a remixable audio-visual experience, the project brings personal digital memories back to life.
George Nöfer’s ‘Gun.stl’ uses 3D-printing files originally meant for DIY firearms to create objects of contemplation, mapping the boundary between the harmless and the threatening to foster critical civic dialogue around digital weapon manufacturing. Antoine Aimé’s furniture collection blends code and craftsmanship, utilizing a custom program based on the golden ratio to generate three-dimensional forms that are then hand-carved in wood or 3D-printed for casting in aluminium.
