반면, 염증이 심한 치아의 발치나 상악동 거상술 등은 상당히 높은 난이도의 진료입니다.
게다가 같은 진료를 하더라도 명백하게 섬세한 의사와 터프한 의사가 있기 때문에,
그 난이도는 담당 의사에 따라서도 달라진다고 할 수 있습니다.
**그리고 환자분들은 치료받을 수 있는 용감 레벨이 있습니다.**
애초에 겁이 없게, 높은 레벨로 태어난 분들고 계십니다.
그리고 한없이 낮은 레벨로 태어난 분들고 계십니다.
또한 그 레벨을 올리는데 필요한 경험치가 적은 분도, 많은 분도 계십니다.

살면서 치과의사가 목표였던 적은 없습니다. 어찌어찌 살다보니 치과의사가 되었습니다. (재미없는 부분은 생략하는 것이 맞습니다.) 그런데 치과의사 면허를 따기 위해 공부를 하면서 목표가 생겼습니다.
#산산히 부서지는 환자분들의 용기
사람들은 좋지 못한 치과 경험을 통해 치과 치료에 트라우마를 가지게 됩니다.
너무 아팠던 기억,
너무 힘든 치료과정,
너무 무서운 의사 선생님,
너무 강압적인 직원들,
그리고 무서운 소리와 냄새.
그 트라우마는 평생의 치아 관리를 소홀하게 만들죠. 그런 관리 소홀이 건강할 수 있었던 치아들을 망가뜨립니다.
서울대학교 치과병원에서 봤던 많은 환자분들이 깊은 후회 속에 간신히 병원을 찾아오십니다. 하지만 교수님들은 그리 부드러운 사람들이 아닙니다. 교수님이 화를 내고 환자분들은 혼이 납니다. 치료를 받으러 온 환자분들의 마음은 이미 조각난 것을 간신히 붙여놓은 유리판같습니다. 작은 충격에도 와장창 무너집니다.
교수님들이야 환자분들에게 치료와 관리의 중요성을 설파하고자 하신 것이겠지만, 그런 작은 충격에도 치료받고자 하는 환자분들의 마음은 산산히 조각나 버립니다. 오히려 새로운 상처를 안고 다시 작은 굴 속으로 도망가 버리십니다.
