/ All the Colors I Am Inside was published by Kehrer Verlag as my first monograph in 2023. The work brings together portraits and landscapes that explore the interior lives of individuals and our relationship to the natural world.

The project is guided in part by my mother’s last words to me: “Trust your gut instincts.” Over the years, that simple advice has become a compass in both my life and my photographic practice.

Using light, time, and color, I construct photographs that reflect the complexity of our emotional and psychological landscapes. While the images depict people and places, the work is rooted in a deeper curiosity about what lies beneath the surface — the instincts, memories, and inner experiences that shape our lives.

The work was presented in solo exhibitions at Winston Wächter Fine Art Seattle in January 2024 and Winston Wächter Fine Art New York in July 2024, and the book was featured in a signing at Paris Photo in 2024.

/ Personal Space developed later in the pandemic as I continued working with flowers, motion, and water. The series was inspired in part by Dutch floral painting and its tradition of dense, abundant arrangements.

In this work, I consider what might be blooming beneath the surface in each of us — the memories, intuition, and quiet emotions that move beyond our conscious awareness.

Using a handheld camera and intentional motion, I photograph flowers in water, allowing color, gesture, and blur to shape the image and soften the boundary between representation and abstraction. It was presented as a solo exhibition at Winston Wachter Fine Art Seattle in 2022.

/ My Eyes Need Beauty was made during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, when much of the American West was also blanketed with wildfire smoke. Spending long periods at home, I turned to photographing flowers as a way to maintain a sense of balance.

The photographs were made in a tub of water at the end of the day, using the last available light. With a handheld camera and intentional motion, I create large-scale color photographs that transform common flowers into soft, impressionistic images. The movement of the flowers in the water shifts the photographs away from strict representation.

The work grew out of a need during that time to surround myself with beauty. I leaned into bold, unapologetically feminine imagery as a way to restore some balance. It was presented in a solo exhibition at Winston Wächter Fine Art Seattle in 2021.
