Taurus and Pisces completely stole the show on this morning during the Pet of the Week segment, and it didn’t take long for these playful kittens to win people over. In fact, they were so adorable that they were quickly placed on adoption hold!

While we celebrate these two little stars finding their future homes, we still have plenty of amazing feline friends waiting for families of their own. Whether you’re looking for a bonded pair or a cat who would prefer to be your one and only companion, there is a match waiting to be made.

These are just a few of the cats currently available and ready to find their new homes. Learn more about our adoptable pets by clicking on the link in our bio.
There have been a lot of emotional moments throughout the Ridglan Farms beagle response effort, but this week brought some especially happy ones: the first beagles in DCHS’s care who were ready for adoption have officially started heading home with their new families. ❤️

Our staff has worked closely with adopters to help prepare them for what this transition may look like and to make sure each beagle is being matched with people ready to give them patience, understanding, and support as they adjust to life outside of a breeding facility. We are so excited for these dogs and so grateful to the families opening their homes and hearts to them.

We also want to give a huge shoutout to the many staff members who helped make these moments possible. Team members from every department have worked tirelessly to prepare for the beagles’ arrival, provide compassionate care, learn each dog’s individual needs, support adopters, and help set these dogs up for success.

And the journey doesn’t end at adoption day. Just like with every animal adopted from DCHS, we’ll continue to be here as a resource for these beagles and their families as they navigate this new chapter together. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead for them!

It's #wildlifewednesday and we're sharing the story of three patients at DCHS's Wildlife Center.

These patients are an Eastern Bluebird hatchling trio who sadly came to us after the finder observed that their parents were killed by a cat.

Since these three were without their parents for a couple of days, they all came to us dehydrated and thin. Our team of dedicated caretakers and staff have helped these birds double their weight in the last week, and they are on the flight to recovery!

It is not common for our Wildlife Center to rehabilitate bluebird hatchlings, or many adults for that matter, but we just so happen to have an adult male bluebird in care! As the three hatchlings grow they will have a mentor to guide them. Most of our young patients do not have the opportunity to interact with an adult of their species during rehabilitation, so we are excited to see these avian mentor-and-student interactions unfold.

As the Wisconsin bird nesting season continues, this situation is a good reminder of the effects that cats with outdoor access can have on bird populations. If you want to learn more ways to keep cats and birds safer this season, check out resources from The American Bird Conservancy at the link in our bio.

Eastern Bluebird Fun Facts:
🐤 Bluebirds nest in already existing holes and cavities, since they cannot build their own.
🐤 Males have bright blue and red/orange feathers, while females are more of a muted gray-blue in color.
🐤 Only the female Eastern Bluebird builds the nest and incubates the eggs.

Meet Sweet Corn, a 6-year-old orange tabby powered almost entirely by head butts, charm, and whatever brief moments he gains possession of the shared orange-cat brain cell. We introduced you to him this morning on 's Tail Wagging Tuesday.

This handsome guy recently arrived from an overcrowded shelter partner and had to wait for some dental work before becoming available for adoption, but he’s recovering well and officially ready to launch himself into someone’s heart and personal space.

With his giant tomcat cheeks, sweet personality, and absolute confidence that every human was put on Earth to admire him, Sweet Corn is the total package. He loves attention, enjoys being doted on, and would be thrilled to become your loyal sidekick.

Come meet Sweet Corn at DCHS when our Adoption Center reopens on Thursday at noon!
For this #TakeMeHomeTuesday with, we would like you to meet Vivian. This 2-year-old terrier mix is bursting with energy and personality! Vivian is a sweet and active dog who loves belly rubs, playtime, and staying busy. She’s the kind of dog who is always ready for the next adventure and will thrive with a family who can keep both her mind and body busy. Vivian can be enthusiastic and energetic, so she’s looking for experienced dog owners and an adult-only home that can help her continue building confidence, practicing good manners, and channeling all that energy into positive outlets. Beneath all that spirited charm is a loving pup who’s eager to bond closely with her people. If you’re looking for a fun-loving sidekick and are ready to put time and energy into helping a young dog succeed, Vivian might just be your perfect match. To learn more about Vivian, visit
