The German Conducting Award 2023, one of the most important competitions for conductors in Europe, came to a close yesterday after an intense week of rounds and rehearsals at the Kölner Philharmonie, alongside two fantastic orchestras: the WDR Sinfonieorchester and the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln and Ensemble und Internationales Opernstudio der Oper Köln.
I am very happy to have received the first prize from the jury this time, as well as the audience award and the Bärenreiter award for the best performance of a contemporary piece.
