As we prepare for the June 20 premiere of Wunderland by the at the Hamburg Ballet, where I designed the costumes, I spend my days sitting through rehearsal after rehearsal, watching an endlessly flowing surreal world gradually take shape under Ratmansky’s hands.
While I watch this unfold during the day, at night my own characters come alive. They begin their own peculiar performance: running, jumping, spinning, and, of course, transforming everything becoming everything else.
I tried to choreograph this dreamlike spectacle into a little over one minute of animation, set to music by Nino Rota.

Last week, during the day, we were fitting costumes for the Hamburg Ballet’s premiere at the end of June. In the evenings, I kept noticing a stray balloon drifting through the streets, carried aimlessly by the wind. Somehow, these two experiences merged in my dreams and transformed into a strange vision of an inflatable dance performance.
I decided to stage it.
I designed the costumes, created the props and the stage environment, lit the scenes, choreographed the movements. It became a playful and slightly absurd performance balancing somewhere between theatre, dream logic, and a passing moment on the street.
And Cantaloupe Island by Herbie Hancock remains one of my all-time favourites.

I was thinking about what happens in relationships, both in the short and long term.
We give something of ourselves, we take something from the other person, and we also add something to one another.
In this bizarre scene, I tried to capture all of these dynamics at once the continuous exchange through which two people gradually shape, transform, and redefine each other.

I’m surely not alone in this, others also wear masks in their everyday lives. Of course, through these masks only as much becomes visible as we want, or as much as we feel we absolutely have to allow through in order to feel safe. And then everything seems to be in its place. #dark #surreal #mask #vintagestyle
I believe machines certainly do not have feelings. They are only capable of expressing emotions if we teach them to do so. And even then, they can only pretend to have emotions. Artificial intelligence is not capable of feelings either, so this video does not express emotions because the AI wanted to, it expresses them because I choreographed them into it. I shaped the characters, developed the colors and details, and then animated the phases of movement. I hardly used prompts at all, but I did use a large number of images as source material. One of them, for example, was the blue neon light I photographed in the restroom of a café, and there is even a windshield wiper among the images. The prompts were mostly only related to the colors of the backgrounds. All of this unfolds to the music of Frédéric Chopin.

When someone finally speaking out a painful but obvious truth that everyone had been silently ignoring: the king is naked.
I think almost everyone knows Andersen’s tale, but what many of you may not know is that, in a small European country, countless people have finally recognized that the king is naked. Of course, the king did not even say goodbye, while people celebrated all weekend long.
Let this remain an important memory: we no longer wish to be tiny balls, animals in the hands of kings deciding above us.
I truly hope I can begin to rebuild a new sense of trust within myself with my home country.

of course, I know this is just another stage of my life, but it’s approaching with intensity. This summer I will reach yet another decade, and it feels like the right moment to translate into images what I leave behind and what I “undertake” moving forward: a continuous transformation, the dismantling of time, climbing an unknown ladder, and I could go on…
Music: Libertango by Astor Piazzola

In a world built from binary—black and white, truth and illusion—we march forward without knowing where we are going. This is not just religion, nor just ritual. It is the performance of authority in a society that no longer believes in singular truths. The bishop’s silence is louder than prophecy, his shadow stitched into the chaos beneath his feet. Each square beneath him is a decision, a doctrine, a decree—but none leads to resolution.
Politics and religion blend here, not to offer clarity, but to confuse. We build, like Babel’s architects, higher and higher, driven not by vision but inertia. We do. We act. We legislate. We proclaim. And yet we ask: where does this all lead?
The video doesn’t answer. It mirrors. It resists narrative. A frozen frame in a story too complex to tell—an opera without libretto, a ritual stripped of salvation.
