This combo is cozy, creamy, and quietly powerful.
Sweet potatoes are rich in beta-carotene, great for skin and immune health, but the real magic is how grounding they feel fresh out of the oven.
I roasted them with a drizzle of olive oil… but let’s talk about that.
Yes, olive oil tastes beautiful. But it’s not ideal for high heat.
Here’s why:
• The polyphenols — the heart-healthy antioxidants — break down when heated above ~190°C / 374°F.
• The fats can oxidize, especially when baked too hot or too long, producing small amounts of aldehydes and other compounds that may contribute to oxidative stress.
• And you lose that fresh, grassy flavor that makes olive oil shine raw.
So, you can absolutely roast these without oil. Sweet potatoes are juicy enough to brown and caramelize beautifully on their own.
But… I still use a splash sometimes. My mom prefers it that way.
Sometimes, you don’t do as you say.
✨ Save this for a slow, nourishing breakfast.
🧡 Want the recipe? Comment “sweet potato” and I’ll DM it to you for free.
I was raised on rice. Not just eating it, but living it.
Breakfast? Rice.
Dinner? Rice again.
Not the fluffy white kind you get in takeout boxes. Or the polished stuff served in 99% of places today.
That’s not real rice — it’s fake food in disguise.
The fiber, the germ, the nutrients? Gone.
Stripped. Bleached. Emptied out until all that’s left is fast-burning starch.
It looks like rice, but it’s just refined carbs dressed up as tradition.
If you ever stayed over at my house as a kid, you probably remember zuurpot — a fermented rice dish my mom started with her own saliva.
That kind of old-school.
And yeah… a lot of my friends only stayed over once.
But we weren’t being weird.
We were living in rhythm with something ancient.
Rice wasn’t a side dish. It was a life source.
It filled us. Grounded us. Kept us warm.
And when you eat whole rice: brown, red, black; you don’t just get full. You feel fulfilled.
White rice tastes delicious, soft, sweet, comforting.
Just like white bread, almost like cake.
But that sweetness comes from what’s been removed:
The parts your body actually needs: the fiber, the minerals, the depth.
Real rice takes time.
It cooks slower. You have to chew it.
But in that slowness, something happens:
You feel satisfied.
You feel stable.
Your hunger settles. Your energy lasts.
Your body thanks you.
Here’s what’s in whole grain rice (that fake white rice lost):
• Fiber – for gut health and blood sugar balance
• Magnesium – for your nervous system and energy metabolism
• B vitamins – like B1, B3, and B6, vital for cellular energy
• Manganese – antioxidant support and bone strength
• Iron & zinc – for immunity and oxygen flow
• Antioxidants – like anthocyanins in black/red rice that reduce inflammation
So next time you eat rice, pause.
Are you eating for comfort?
Or for depth?

This is one of those simple rituals that gently wakes up the body.
Ginger brings warmth.
Lemongrass feels light and calming.
Together, they support digestion, circulation, and that slow, grounded energy we need in the morning.
I love starting the day with something warm before coffee, before rushing, before the world gets loud.
✨ No coconut kefir?
You can use:
– warm water
– coconut water
– or even plain hot herbal tea
The ritual and warmth matter more than the “perfect” ingredient.
(And yes we’ll share how to make coconut kefir soon.)
Save this for a slow morning 🌿
And share it with someone who could use a little extra warmth today.

28 seconds of love in the middle of chaos.
Sticky hands, scooter hair, kitchen disco,
and a mother–son duo causing trouble from Canggu to Ubud. 🌴
We’ve been in and out of kitchens for days,
filming, tasting, laughing, living.
Some people collect souvenirs,
we collect moments (and dirty pans).
Life is short.
Laugh loud, dance in the kitchen,
and share it with the ones who raised you.
Some really cool recipes coming very soon.

That’s why I made the switch to wood. But not just any wooden cutting board, because here’s the catch: some are glued together with chemicals you really don’t want near your food.
There’s a lot of marketing around “eco” or “natural” boards that aren’t as clean or safe as they seem.
If you want to know what to look for, what kind of wood is safest, which glues to avoid, and how to choose a board that actually supports your health, drop “cutting board” in the comments or send me a quick message.
I’ll send you all the info for free. No catch, just helping you make safer choices in the kitchen. 🌿🧠
Sometimes the smallest swaps make the biggest difference.

Also known as Bermuda buttercup or silgratz.
Native to South Africa, now commonly found across the Mediterranean, especially Portugal and Spain (Ibiza).
A winter-blooming plant with edible, lemony leaves and flowers, rich in vitamin C and traditionally used to support digestion and cool the body.
✨ Enjoy mindfully.

Normally, New Year’s means celebration for me, party, people, going outward.
This time, I chose the opposite, I went inside.
People sometimes ask me:
What’s the benefit of a silent retreat?
There’s this passage from book, The Power of Now.
Where Eckhart Tolle shares how Carl Jung recounts a conversation with a Native American chief.
The chief observed that many Westerners appeared tense and restless, with staring eyes, always wanting something, rarely at ease. The tribe couldn’t understand what they were seeking. Only that the seeking itself never stopped.
For many of us including myself, that restlessness shows up as always chasing the next thing:
the next (surf/ski)trip, the next holiday, the next destination, the next event, the next party and so on.
And this isn’t about rejecting any of that, I’m not suddenly going to stop living or celebrating life.
But I do think it’s healthy to stand still once in a while. To reset. To question yourself. To ask what really matters, beyond the constant movement and stimulation.
For me, meditation isn’t about escaping life or reaching some special state. It’s about learning to observe the mind, the constant commentary, the habits of thought, the ego’s tendency to always want more. Silence, and meditation in general, helps train that capacity to observe without immediately reacting. You start to see that a lot of suffering doesn’t come from life itself, but from how the mind interprets it. I don’t feel like I know the truth.
Honestly, I feel like I’m only beginning to grasp it.
But little by little, I’m starting to see what so many people have been pointing toward for a long time.
It hasn’t given me answers. But it has helped things come together. It feels like the last 10 years of my spiritual journey are slowly connecting, quietly, gently, one insight at a time.
If you’re curious about silence, meditation, or wondering what a retreat like this might bring for you, feel free to reach out.
It’s about awareness.
Focus on what’s real:
foods grown in the ground, not made in a factory.
Whole grains, legumes, roots, greens, cruciferous and sea vegetables, alliums, nuts, seeds, fruits, herbs…
the foods that help you feel alive.
This is the mission.
Not perfection.
Presence. 🌿

My mom raised me on a macrobiotic diet: whole, organic, natural foods made with intention. Back then, I didn’t get it. I just wanted to eat like everyone else.
But when I moved out and started eating “normal” food, everything changed.
That’s when I realized this wasn’t just about diet. It was wisdom.
Food has the power to protect, to restore, and to bring us back into balance. 🌾
This journey isn’t about labels or restrictions.
It’s about awareness and reconnecting with what truly nourishes us.

You might know me from different sides of my life… but before all of that, my story began at home.
My mom raised me in a very special way: on a macrobiotic diet, rooted in whole, natural, organic foods.
As a kid, I didn’t always appreciate it. But years later, after getting sick for the first time, I realized how much that way of living had already been teaching me.
Food wasn’t just something we ate. It was medicine.
It was connection.
It was information for the body.
Over the next few videos, I’ll be sharing that journey: how nutrition shaped me, how I became obsessed with it, and how the simplest foods can bring us back to balance. 🌿
