"I am Yashaswita, a Food Photographer and Photography Mentor. I create drool worthy food pictures!
If you ask people who've known me in my early years and teens, they'd call me a nerd! and why wouldn't they? I was good at Math, Science and Computers. I thought Engineering was my calling. One thing led to the other and I ended up moving to the US. To be honest, I love science, technology and engineering till date!
I guess this is where things changed for me. During my Master's degree, I started participating in dance, art, video editing, dramas and eventually photography happened! I moved to several cities for work after graduation, and made friends along. One time at a get together, a friend pushed me to start my Instagram account for sharing food pictures. I took a leap of faith and started three years back:)
Soon after good engagements I borrowed my brother's camera and started pursuing Food Photography. Over time, I read several books and practised several different techniques in Food Photography and got better at it! Moreover, Instagram being a visual platform, Photography is something that all of us should learn in order to attract an audience who connect with our work. Over the past two years, I have worked with several small & large businesses in the Food & Beverage industry across the world. I take immense pride in working with brands that contribute to society, or in some way help the world become a better place. My photography usually depicts food with their raw emotions, something that comes from my experiences in life.
I feel my passion and the itch for learning new things comes to me from the fact that I wanted to try many things as a kid but I couldn't due to several setbacks in my family. I lost my father at the age of six, and when you lose a parent, you are forced to grow up early. But I've never complained; and even today with every setback in life, I know I will rise and shine and be the best version of myself by every passing day!
