Confession still stands: I was very late to the donair party.
Born and raised in Nova Scotia. Halifax donair heritage fully intact.

Timing? Questionable. That’s OK.

This reel is proof that you don’t need a culinary side quest (or a 2 a.m. lineup) to bring a Halifax classic home.

Ten minutes. One pan. Zero drama.

Yes, this is a partnership with Mr. Donair β€” and yes, I’d still be eating this even if it wasn’t.

Extra crispy meat. Lettuce added and I’m not sorry. No regrets.

You can grab the kits at Walmart, Superstore, Sobeys, Giant Tiger, Gateway Meat Market, Needs, and Costco.

Late to the party… but fully committed now.
I know posting a 2025 recap in January is technically β€œlate.”

But rushing to summarize a year I hadn’t fully processed yet didn’t feel right.

This isn’t a highlight reel. It’s a reminder that life can be expansive and heavy at the same time, and both deserve to be honoured.

2025 gave me some of the best moments of my life… and some genuinely hard ones too. We worked with dream clients, went behind the scenes at festivals and events, and found ourselves in rooms and green rooms with some absolute legends. We also navigated the end of some relationships that felt heavy β€” necessary, but not easy.

We travelled more than ever this year, often with the people we love most, that included friends, family and clients which felt like a quiet kind of magic I don’t take for granted.

And there was grief. I delivered the eulogy at my grandmother’s funeral, and it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. That loss changed me in ways I’m still understanding.

I took a break to sit with all of it instead of spinning it.

Social media feels strange right now. Trust is thin. So I’m choosing slower, truer, and more human.

I’m back now. A little quieter. A lot clearer. And committed to showing up in a way that actually feels true and honest in a world that… doesn’t.

2026 will look different around here, on purpose, but we’re excited to show up in new ways and are eternally grateful for your love and support.
Holiday cheat code: get your shopping done in one evening at Fisherman's Cove

πŸ“ 4 Government Wharf Rd, Eastern Passage

POV: Your holiday shopping turns into a whole coastal adventure instead of a stressful mall sprint.

There’s something wildly charming about doing your gift shopping in a 200-year-old fishing village. Salty air, boardwalk, and the tiny shops run by actual humans who remember your name… it just hits differently.

Fisherman’s Cove is basically the antidote to holiday chaos:

β†’ handcrafted gifts you won’t see anywhere else
β†’ Maritime art + quirky finds
β†’ hot chowder, warm cookies, great coffee
β†’ and that β€œam I in a snow globe?” energy the malls will never compete with

If you’re looking for a way to make holiday shopping feel special and support real, independent makers and shop owners, this is it.

Eastern Passage for a little coastal retail therapy? 🎁🌊

Thailand Hot Take 🫣

Skip Phi Phi islands and do this instead!

Hire a private long tail for the morning, leave before 8am and snorkel at Coral Island. It only gets a fraction of the visitors that Phi Phi does, is stunningly beautiful, has amazing snorkelling and the tourists don’t start arriving until 10am.

We had this beach to ourselves for the first hour and even when people do start to arrive, it’s only a few boats at a time (not the hundreds flooding the bays of Phi Phi Islands).

On our way home, we stopped at a secluded beach and swam completely alone. We were the only boat and the only people there. Well, unless you count the monkeys and goats that also inhabit the island. Paradise.
β€œI won’t be sorry, even if I’m sick”
Instagram lies. You should know that.
Give me a private beach, an infinity pool and delivered cocktails any day over over-crowded tourist traps.
Thailand is so different from what I expected. It’s stunning, but surprising… and you will sweat.

I’ve been publishing my travel diary on the blog with my raw, uncut thoughts if you’re looking for a real and true account of what it’s like to visit Thailand.
