Designed in 1952 by celebrated architect Hans Olsen, the Dinette dining table and matching 3-legged chairs are a true icon of Midcentury Danish design.
What makes the design iconic? 🤔
The signature feature of this set is the compact and practical design. Each of the dining chairs tucks completely into the table top, creating an enclosed cylindrical shape that looks outstanding from all angles.
This look is effortlessly achieved as the radius of the table top perfectly matches that of the backrest.
Has the set been restored in any way? 🪚
At over 70 years old, this set needed some Danish Homestore magic when it first arrived at our workshop. The table has been gently cleaned and restored, finished with teak oil to nourish and protect the gorgeous vintage teak. The chair frames have been reglued to ensure durability and stability for many years to come!
The seats have all been re-padded using new 1 inch thick foam, finished with soft and subtle leather from Claytons Leather Group - A local Derbyshire tannery that is now unfortunately no longer in business - which is a shame as this leather is as premium as it gets! Super thick with a lovely grain and a natural matte finish.
The dining table measures only 105cm in diameter, extending to 155cm with the use of the internal leaf to seat all 6 chairs comfortably around the table!
