2025 was a wonderful year filled with many blessings, but the biggest of all was getting married to my best friend, and celebrating our special day surrounded by everyone we love.
It was truly an honour to have everyone come to our wedding, and it was so surreal to have people I’ve met at various stages of my life come together and see each other and even become friends.
I am also so honoured to get to share this life with someone so wonderful, and I’m looking forward to the future with him as well as a relationship and family rooted in Jesus. 💕 Thank you so much to all the beautiful souls I’ve had the honour of interacting with this year. I’m praying that God may bless you, give you peace, and strengthen you for this upcoming new year!

Something I love about living in a smaller community in the Japanese countryside is the chance to participate in the community.
As both a foreigner and a newcomer from the city, it easier to view what local consider daily practices, as something with important cultural significance. At the same time I am also really grateful that the community is so willing to share these events with people like myself that have migrated here.
My coworkers are working hard daily to keep these cultural practicies alive and have made an “experience plan” that allows people that don’t live here to interact with the locals on a deeper level like this event above.
For those that live in Japan, it’s even available to try through the “Furusato Nouzei” tax reduction program, as these important occasions are organized not by a company but through the local government.
If anyone else is interested, please send me a message or comment below! There are many other ways to have a special travel experience and to support the local community such as monitor tours throughout the year that I would love to share 😌

毎週違う花が道沿いに咲いていたこと。

📍初山別 | Shosanbetsu
Did you know that Hokkaido is known for its many beautiful and scenic drives?
One of the most beautiful drives I have been on, the road along the western cape of Hokkaido, from Rumoi to Wakkanai offers incredible views of the Sea of Japan.
As we got closer to Wakkanai, Rishiri Fuji (the Fuji of the North) began to show up on the horizon, growing as we got closer to our destination.
It felt as if we were getting further and further from civilization, and I felt my heart getting more calm as the day went by.
I have more pictures of the incredible roads we travelled, so look forward to it! 🌅

道内のあまり知られていない、魅力が溢れている小さな町を紹介します：
📍Nakafurano 中富良野町
One of my favourite places in Hokkaido is a small town called Nakafurano.
Unfortunately, many people often come to Nakafurano solely to visit the famous Farm Tomita, and don’t know that in fact there is much more to the small town than the famous tourist spot!
There are many things to do in the town, like renting a bicycle and cycling through the peaceful rice fields, sitting in old Japanese cafes while drinking coffee and looking at the majestic mountain range, buying bread from a local bakery, or buying fresh vegetables directly from a local farmer. 🌱
Throughout the spring and summer seasons as well, the town is coloured by a beautiful variety of flowers.🌷
Ultimately, my favourite thing about the town is how warm the residents are, and how relaxing the surrounding countryside is. It’s really one of my top recommendations if you are the type of person who wants to unwind in the Japanese countryside!

有名なファーム富田だけを
目当てにしていますが、
実は有名な観光スポット以外にも

地元の住民の温かさと、
周囲の田園風景と、
