Recent wall for in Subiaco, WA. Paying homage to the Subiaco train station that opened in 1924. Originally named the Daglish Railway Station & Subway. The station was built in 1924 to serve the growing population of Subiaco after the First World War. This year marks 100 years since its opening.
The mural also pays tribute to the building itself which was a lamp & electrical factory in the early 1900’s.

I was fortunate enough to get this wall passed onto me by the great team a couple of days landing on WA soil. 30-40degree heat, wind & a short deadline made for a character building project!
This style of mine is & probably always will be a work in progress. I learnt so much on this wall in regards to the style & how to navigate the process of it! Trying to find that balance of staying messy & rough with bold strokes, drips & splashes yet keeping it tight & smooth in areas with tins.

Surrounding the eagle are symbols depicting the Cessnock & Wollombi region, Mount Yengo & Tiddalik the frog; all merged together through journey, lines & meeting places.
This mural of my beautiful partner Izzy was undertaken to play around & experiment with my canvas practice on a large scale. A lot was learned & I cannot wait for the next wall that I attack using this technique.
From here, I will be pushing my stylistic boundaries more & exploring this realm deeper on large scale 🧡
