This moment isn’t just about me, it’s about #Seattle, and the incredible people, communities, and relationships that have shaped who I am and the work I do.
Seattle is where I’ve been able to build deep, powerful connections across community, government, nonprofits, education, and business. It’s where I’ve learned that data isn’t just numbers, it’s a tool for storytelling, accountability, and equity. It’s where mentors took time to pour into me, partners trusted me with complex problems, and community leaders welcomed me into rooms where real change happens.
Through The Data Guys™, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside organizations committed to affordable housing, workforce development, digital equity, public investment, and small business growth, often behind the scenes, but always with impact at the center. None of this work happens alone. Every project, every milestone, and every lesson learned has been a collective effort.
I’m especially grateful for the relationships built along the way, the late-night strategy sessions, the community listening sessions, the “let’s figure this out together” moments, and the shared belief that people deserve systems that work for them.
Thank you to everyone who has walked with me, challenged me, trusted me, and supported me along this journey. This nomination belongs to all of us.
Onward. Always.
🙏🏾

Out of tens of thousands of applications, I’m grateful to share that I’ve been invited to continue to the next phase of the volunteer selection process for the FIFA World Cup.
To put the scale into perspective:
• In Seattle alone, there were ~34,000 applications
• of that ~6,000 candidates were invited to tryouts (with sessions rolling out in phases)
• Final volunteer selections will come later, but tryouts are a required and competitive next step.
In other host cities, the competition is just as intense, for example, Toronto reportedly saw over 1 million applicants, with only ~3% advancing. Simply moving forward in this process is something I don’t take lightly.
I applied specifically to contribute where my background is strongest: technology and data management. As a Lead Data Engineer, the opportunity to potentially support large-scale event operations, data coordination, and technology readiness at a global level is incredibly meaningful to me.
The Volunteer Team Tryouts are designed to be collaborative and conversational, a chance to meet the volunteer management team, share why you’re a good fit, and better understand what it takes to support an event of this magnitude. I’m excited, grateful, and very aware of how competitive this moment is.
On to the next step.
No assumptions, just preparation and gratitude!

I asked some friends if they wanted to hit the pumpkin patch yesterday because I had to try Bob's Corn Maze and Pumpkin Farm homemade pumpkin donuts… and when I tell you, they were amazing. 🤤 Fresh, warm, and perfectly spiced.
Cheers to more fall adventures, good friends, and even better donuts this season. 🧡🍩 #BobsCorn #PumpkinPatch #FallVibes #SeattleFall
It’s Give More 24!, and I’m raising funds for IUrban Teen, an organization that literally changes lives.
I know because I’ve lived it. Growing up below the poverty line and being raised by my grandmother, I didn’t see many pathways into tech. Now, I lead my own Data & AI Engineering firm. That journey wasn’t luck, it was opportunity. And opportunity is what iUrban Teen creates every day.
The truth:
• Black and Latine workers together make up only 8% of the U.S. tech workforce.
• Since 2011, iUrban Teen has served 20,000+ students, introducing them to STEM, AI, and data with culturally relevant mentorship and real career pathways.
Even $100 pays for a student’s program experience, an investment that could alter the entire trajectory of their life.
So today, I’m asking: Will you join me in making a difference?
Donate here:
Let’s ensure the next generation of innovators don’t just dream of being in tech, they see themselves there.

Supporting the biggest FIFA World Cup™ yet, this once in-a-generation community of volunteers will help bring to life a tournament uniting three countries and billions of hearts around the world.
With around 65,000 volunteers expected to participate, the FIFA World Cup 26™ Volunteer Community will be the largest volunteer program for a FIFA event to date.
Given the expanded 48-team format and activity across 16 Host Cities over the course of six weeks, the FIFA Volunteer Community, now one million members strong and growing, will be called on to join in support of the biggest FIFA World Cup™ yet.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said: “Volunteers are the heart, soul, and smile of FIFA tournaments. Volunteers get to show off their city pride, gain a behind-the-scenes view of the tournament and make memories and friendships that can last a lifetime, while supporting a historic event. We hope interested individuals will join us as we welcome the world to North America in 2026.”
Community, you know what to do!!!! Run it up!

Last night at the 30th Annual Community Fish Fry was one for the books.
Seeing so many familiar faces, elders, political affiliates, and kids running around with joy, old friends, and new friendships being made over a plate of fish, greens, mac, and baked beans, was powerful.
I moved here from over 2000 miles away. When I first got here, it was scary. Over these years, this place has embraced me. I went from feeling like an outsider to calling this city home.
Last night, that truth was on full display. The laughter, the hugs, the shared memories, all of it felt like family.
It’s a reminder that no matter where you’re from, you can find a home in community. That we build these spaces together. That our connections are what feed us, even more than the food on our plates.
To Dawn Mason happy 80th. Your legacy of bringing people together is truly amazing. Thank you for being the blueprint for what community leadership really means.
To everyone who helped organize, sponsor, cook, clean, greet folks, shuttle folks, and make people feel welcome, you’re the heartbeat of this city.
Last night reminded me why I love it here.
#Seattle, you showed up. You always do.

When nonprofits visualize their impact geographically, something happens. Communities that once seemed like abstract data points suddenly become visible neighborhoods with real people and real needs.
Maps bring context to the work. They show us where resources are abundant and where they're scarce. They reveal patterns of service delivery that might otherwise remain hidden. They transform complex social challenges into visual stories that anyone can understand at a glance.
I've seen organizations completely transform their donor conversations by simply showing their work on a map. Suddenly, that after-school program isn't just serving "at-risk youth", it's creating safe spaces in specific neighborhoods where young people have few other options.
For community members, these visualizations answer the crucial question: "What's happening near me?" For funders, they demonstrate thoughtful resource allocation. For staff, they guide strategic decisions about where to focus next.
The beauty of geospatial storytelling isn't in complex technology, it's in making the invisible visible. It's about honoring the unique character of each community while showing how they connect to form a larger picture of change.
What stories could your organization tell through mapping? How might seeing your work geographically change the conversations you're having?
Let's help more social impact organizations put their impact on the map, literally!
