As we get older, our eyes can start to have a few changes however most of these are completely normal.

1. • Occasional floaters
A few drifting specks or strands in your vision can be normal age-related changes in the vitreous gel
Concerning signs are a sudden shower of floaters with flashes, a curtain covering part of the eye, or vision loss. Any new changes should always be checked

2. Intermittent eyelid twitching
That random flutter is called myokymia. It’s triggered by stress, caffeine, or fatigue - and it’s annoying, not dangerous. Nearly everyone experiences it at some point.
Treatment includes hydration, relaxation, and avoiding caffeine and alcohol.

3. Eye strain
With age, the focusing system becomes less flexible. Prolonged near work makes your eyes work harder, leading to headaches, blur, or heaviness. Frequent breaks, blinking, and lighting adjustments help.

4• Eyelashes becoming thinner
Hormonal changes and slower hair growth cycles make lashes naturally shorter and sparser over time. It’s a normal cosmetic change, even with perfect eye health. Using a peptide based eyelash serum can enhance the appearance of thinning eyelashes.

5. Occasional gritty or ā€œsandpaperā€ feeling
The tear film becomes less stable as get older, especially with screen time, heaters, and air conditioning and hormonal changes
This dryness can cause brief irritation that improves with blinking or lubricating drops.

6. Difficulty reading up close (presbyopia)
it’s your lens hardening with age. This is very common over 45 years and often reading glasses are needed

šŸ‘€Get your eyes checked annually

šŸ’ŠOmega supplements are highly recommended for eye health.

🄬Lutein and zeaxanthin ( found in foods such as kale spinach broccoli and corn ) and supplements can help protect your eyes from harmful light waves like ultraviolet rays in sunlight. Studies suggest high levels are associated with better vision, especially in dim light or where glare is a problem. This can decrease risk of cataracts and slow down the progression of macular degeneration.
