This one was extra special because I got to be a part of Pokémon’s first ever arena finals — cannot tell you how much adrenaline I felt hearing a live crowd of over 5,000 roar and cheer!
My first World Championships was back in 2008 and it was in a little ballroom in a hotel over in Orlando that could barely fit 50+ people. It’s crazy to think how far competitive Pokémon has come, and it’s even crazier to know that this is still just the beginning with Champions releasing next year. If you went back to 2008 and told Aaron back then he’d be here 17 years later, he’d tell you to stop making things up… it’s truly a unimaginable dream come true!
Thank you to Pokemon to allowing me to lend my voice to the broadcast, to for being an outstanding co-caster who puts in so much work and makes my job so much easier and more enjoyable, to all the competitors (especially Gio and James, what a finals) for playing their hearts out and giving us amazing matches that demonstrate what this game can be at its highest level, to all of the casting team for being incredible people and friends, to all those who worked behind the scenes to make this event happen, and to all of YOU for watching & being a part of this scene/community!

It was surreal to compete again, especially at the exact same venue where I finished 3rd at the World Championships a decade ago.
I’m really proud of my performance - balancing content, commentary, competing, and everything outside of Pokémon has been a challenge but this tournament showed me I can still be among the best. Coming so close to another championship after so many years and falling short hurts, but I’m grateful to have had such a good run.
I think one of the most surreal parts of this tournament was competing against multiple players who had gotten into the game by watching my content, including the eventual champion, Abdullah. That means more to me than anything else 💙
And finally, a huge thank you to all those who cheered me on over the weekend! I feel so grateful to be able to do all of this and love you all. See you at the next event ☺️
