I've always felt like skincare is an ongoing project for me - the more I learn, the more I feel I need to know! I'm lucky enough not to have problematic skin, but like most of us, the skin concerns are there - aging, blemishes, unhealthy skin and hormonal skin!

As we see more beauty trends rising on TikTik, instagram and YouTube, millions of new products being pushed at us as the latest must-haves, and conflicting information on what's good for us, it's no wonder a lot of us are unsure what to go with and what works!

My approach is go back to the basics and look at what we need and what is fundamental: consistency, protection and gentle care. Something I've also focused on over the years - is it natural? Is it ethical? Does my skin actually NEED this?

I've also been looking at things which are changing with 2026 - and it's been an interesting read!

So here's a few 2026 Skincare and Beauty predictions I've seen after my research:

• AI skincare and beauty on the rise
• Updating the classics - same products but smarter and updated
• Rise of cosmetic treatments - let's face it, we're already seeing this
• Good aging over anti-aging - focusing on good skin health and smart choices
• Skin care devices are starting to become more creative and popular
• KBeauty becoming mainstream - we're all seeing this becoming more common
• Wellness with beauty - combining science, wellness and skin care for effective routines
• Longevity over quick fixes - its not just about surface fixes, its looking deeper into cellular
• Minimal skincare but with maximalist results

I'm still doing my research, and I'm still being quite cautious, so let's see how it goes! What's your skin care advice?

It's been a quiet start to January so far, but hubster and I took some time out to brave the cold and have a little quality time exploring Soho recently, so here's a snippets of our day 🌸

It's worth keeping an eye out for free exhibitions and pop ups that are on in London, they're always a great alternative if you're not looking to spend too much and its a fun way to enjoy your day out - we're all feeling the crunch at the moment!

Free spots I do recommend in Soho:

▫️ Flannels free exhibition on the basement level
▫️ Art galleries - great for new and contemporary art!
▫️The Wallace Collection - a gorgeous free space
▫️The Photographer's Gallery
▫️Windows shopping at Liberty London
▫️Walking around in China Town
▫️Berwick Street Market!
▫️Chill in Soho Square Garden

What's your ideal day out?

And here it is, my reel life vs real life 2025 recap! 🎉

I know we all know that life isn't what our highlight reel shows everyone - I also very much am aware that my Instagram page is full of flowers, dresses and pretty food, but I do like to pepper in a bit of real life every now and then!

So here's some things about this year which I haven't talked much about:

1. Hubster and I didn't travel anywhere this year (I know, first world problems!) This is the first year in about a decade we haven't gone anywhere (compared to the 4 trips I made in 2024!), so this year was definitely quieter, and best believe the FOMO was real when looking at everyone's travel pictures!
Having said that, the savings we made were worth it. I know not everyone has the luxury of travel as well, and it's made me appreciate my home more!

2. Despite what you see online with my fat ass stuffing my face every week, I really have eaten out less this year! I saw a post recently of someone who did a takeaway/restaurant 'wrapped' of their spending this year and it was really interesting to see what savings they made. It got me thinking about what we've cut down on and how we have started to save money by making smarter meals at home.

3. I put on weight this year. I know, I know, it doesn't always show and I'm not fat. But when you know your body well, you feel it when it changes. Compared to previous years I've gotten lazy but the good thing is, hubster and I have talked about this quite a bit recently and the way we can both be better. So far we've been investing in our diet and in the gym, so let's see how 2026 goes.

4. I read a lot more this year! This is a lovely plus for me, although I know I've been lazy with posting reviews so hopefully I'll be doing more of this

I hope you had a good 2025, and if you didn't then that's okay. I hope during this period before the New Year, you're able to get some time off to rest, recharge and not get overwhelmed by all the crazy reels, tiktok videos, wrapped, resolutions and celebrations.

As always, free Palestine, Congo and Sudan, may Allah give our brothers and sisters justice, freedom and safety 🍉

While I may not celebrate Christmas, there's something enchanting about London in December!

I know it's a tradition for a lot of families, those who celebrate and those who don't, to travel down and see the lights - I remember my parents driving us down in the 90s (when it was less hectic) and it was always a fun vibe ✨️

London has really been alive this month, the streets are packed, the shops are putting on their best decor, and even though it's freezing outside, we're planning days out (or evenings considering how dark it gets!)

Are you planning to see the lights this year? I'll be honest, I enjoyed walking around but I'm not sure I'll be ready to brave the crowds again!
