Iāve always started my day optimistically making lists of all my āmust-dosā and I used to get a sense of accomplishment scratching them off as I went.
But, with grief came guilt when some days Iād barely get past the first line. Seeing all the things I didnāt have the capacity for still lined up waiting for me at the end of the day meant Iād go to bed with my mind racing ā recounting my failure to stay motivated and productive.
Recently I pivoted, and I now choose to add to my day, rather than subtract. Now the last thing I see before I sleep are my accomplishments and a record of where I chose to spend my energy.

I intentionally didnāt open this app for the entire holiday in order to be present with my family and my feelings.
I did try and post a year-end recap but was overwhelmed with the highs and lows and the memories that came with every photo. In the end I decided the best way to honour Michael and losing him in 2025 was to keep the precious private.
Now, on this first day of a new year without Michael, Iām making soap and feeling grateful for the opportunity to do what I love, supported by so many.
My kids gifted me my new favourite thing, my apron, and my girls and I all got a little tattoo of Michaelās cheeky smiley face from our family favourite card game scoresheet. Iām bringing this energy into 2026.
How our kids showed up for me, and each other, in this first Christmas without him was very special and something I will cherish forever. There was so much love. There IS so much love.
Iām so proud of us.
Thank you for an incredible 2025 year for the business, for new friendships, and of course the OG supporters whoāve never wavered. Iām here because you are.

I havenāt shared personal stuff here becauseā¦well, I donāt really know why. Maybe I just never knew where to start. Maybe because once itās out there, itās real. But, I feel this is important, so I guess Iāll start with a bang.
My husband has Stage 4 cancer. And, today he left for Austria to get the treatment he needs, and deserves.
Today was the last slow morning we get to share for a long time and Iām having all the emotions at once.
Hope.
Sadness.
Frustration.
Gratitude.
Fear.
Pride.
Anger.
I am thankful we have the means to send him and that he has family in Vienna who will care for him while I canāt.
I am also beyond frustrated this treatment isnāt available in Canada and initially his oncologists were against it. Instead, we were told there wasnāt much that could be done and we needed to accept palliative chemotherapy as our only option.
Iām so proud of us for not accepting this as our fate.
Iām angry not everyone has this chance.
Iām sad because I miss him already and we donāt know how long he will be away. I love this man with everything I am, and itās difficult to be separated when we need each other the most.
Iām hopeful because the doctor confidently told us this treatment will āadd years, not monthsā to his life.
All. Of. The. Feelings.
So, I will be here, keeping my hands and heart busy making products I love. My house is quiet and Iāve got grateful tears in my eyes for each and every one of you for being here with me and making this possible. ā¤ļø
