Making water gun into a laser pistol is complete. I added a little EVA foam for the trigger. These were made from my friends upcoming movie project. More to come stay tuned.
Xenomorph back tubes made using 6mm foam. This is my first test build using my new patterns. Everything appears to be working. One down three to go. The rib detail inside, going to make a stone mold of those and cast them out of rubber. Join me next week Sunday at my live stream when you can watch me put them together.
All the foam pieces are in place. For my base color coat I’m using 2X gloss Black. The rest of the colors will be I used to mask off the mouth. So that I can glue on condoms for mouth tendons. Like did. The next big project will be patterning out the Alien Torso.
Alien neck is finished. It turned out better than I expected. Once I glued on the rubber, detailed tubing was all it needed. The next big step it’s a seal Xenomorph head itself with then I’m going to glue on the jaw and add latex condoms on the side of the mouth for detail. I’m not going to make the alien tongue. My Aliens mouth is going to be open because it’s gonna be my view port for the costume. I’m going to talk to about painting the Alien head. i’ve seen her work when painting miniatures and they’re spot on.
When was making the Alien. He enjoyed using tubing bones and found parts. The main detail on the side of the alien head is a 70s gas pump. I bought one with the intention of using it. But it was easier to just make it out of foam. I do miss the old days of taking found parts and making cool Props.
Alien head foam spines. I wasn’t sure how it was going to make them, so I thought I just start cutting foam shapes. It turned out better than I expected. I added some form clay to finish off the rough edges. I’m so happy how they turned out. Thanks to everyone who joined me on my live stream. Next week will start making tubes.
Both the Guyver unit cases are finished. When making a movie, you always need a hero Prop and stunt Prop. The stunt case is made completely out of EVA foam. The hero Prop was made from foamcore. This allow me to make it quickly and inexpensively. Also, the Prop had to open to reveal the Guyver units. This has been a challenging, but fun project. After all these years, I still have a little bit of a Guyver fever. I’m very happy to be a part of the project. I made my deadline, this shoots in November. So now it’s time to clean the shop and get back onto other projects.
The Guyver unit case. This is for project. send me images of the original anime case design. This one is the foam stunt prop. The hero one that is completed. I just need to install lights in it tomorrow. This was a fun project, but it ended up being more complicated than I expected. It’s always a stuff you think is simple until you start making it. I can’t wait to see it when I have all three units in it.
