I know I’m already a week passed the January Wolf Full Moon, but I finally found the time to sit down and edit these four shots from my moon alignments in Dallas, Texas. It’s always such a challenge to find spots that work in unfamiliar cities. I am really proud of myself that I was able to get all four plans to work out in the end! On to the next one 🌕❤️🔥

I had an amazing time shooting the fireworks display in Dallas! At first I was told by the local Fire Marshal that I was not allowed at my spot. I didn’t want to argue with him so I packed up my gear and went to a slightly different spot. However, about 2 hours before the show I started noticing several other people go to my initial spot, so I decided to go back once more myself. After about another 30 minutes or so, the same Fire Marshal approached me and apologized for initially saying I was not allowed at this spot. I am so glad I wasn’t breaking any rules, but I was also feeling pretty good since there were probably 50 other people there now and I was still able to snag the best spot! Anyways, I truly hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year! 2026 will be an amazing year, I know it 🥂🎉

I am still stunned by this insane sunset at the famous Forrest Gump Point. I usually get meh glows around popular photo spots, so I am so happy my sunset forecast was accurate. I also had to deal with the several other tourists taking the same shot, but I was patient enough to get them mostly out of the frame and then removed the handful in Photoshop. We had some pretty dramatic skies over the last couple days in Utah and Arizona, so more photos to come! 🌵🏜️
On a separate note, today is also my birthday. Officially made it around the sun 32 times. So if you want to celebrate with me, feel free to like, comment, and share this post 🤣 Sorry, I had to make this plug on the one day I feel like I can. Regardless, I wish everyone a merry Christmas and happy Holidays! 🎄🎉🎁

It felt like I was just here, but it actually was over 3 years since we’ve been to Los Angeles. We decided to only spend one night here since we still have lots of ground to cover, but I am very happy with my three photos from this quick little pit stop.

I really enjoyed our days in San Francisco. We had surprisingly good weather and got to see parts we didn’t explore before. I had a blast hiking down to Marshall’s Beach where the first shot was taken.
The second shot was a somewhat unsuccessful moon alignment with the Salesforce Tower. The moon was just a little too low and my original plan didn’t actually work because there were too many trees blocking the view.
Shot number three was a neat little reflection shot I got during our first morning in the city. I am just in awe of the colors and tones in this picture. I did have to spend a decent amount of time trying to get the Golden Gate Bridge colors to look right.
Next we have the famous Lombard Street winding road. It was taken shortly after the sunrise on our second day just before I captured the moon set on top of the Golden Gate Bridge that I posted a few days ago.
Second to last here is one of the coolest spots in the entire city, at least in my opinion. This spot it called Andy Goldsworthy’s Wood Line and it is a 1,200 feet long recycled eucalyptus trunks lined up in another winding path. I had to wait a little for the light to be just right, but it was 100% worth the wait.
And for the last shot I simply had to get a photo of the famous street cars. This spot is also known because twice (it might be only once) a year the sun sets right between the two buildings and lines up perfectly with the train tracks. This event is often referred to as the San Francisco Henge and might be a reason for me to come back!

I’ve been wanting to travel and capture moon alignments in different places outside of the Seattle area. I’ve tried in both New York City and Chicago and both times mother nature had different plans. But today, all the stars (or should I say the moon lol) finally aligned and I got to capture this beautiful Cold Moon set on top of the Golden Gate Bridge! We only spent two whole days in San Francisco, but I’ll do at least one more post with some shots I took. Stay tuned!

It’s finally that time again in Seattle where fall colors are starting to pop! This has to be one of my favorite times of the year to be in the Seattle area! The leaves are changing, the weather is starting to cool down, and we can finally wear sweaters again! Yes, the shorter days can become rough, but, at least for now, we still get some sunlight in the morning and after work. Unfortunately, the next couple days will be very rainy and grey. I am hoping to capture some more fall foliage before it is too late! And also happy start to the spider season 🍁🍂🕸️
This was one of my bucket list photos for a very long time. It only happens once or twice a year that the full moon rises very close to Mount Rainier and yesterday was one of those days. A lot of things have to go right to make this shot a reality. It has to be a clear day, which we all know is usually still very unpredictable in early June in western Washington. As you can tell, there was a layer of low clouds blocking the base of Rainier, but I got lucky and it didn’t cover the moon or the top of the mountain. Additionally, the angle of the moon rise has to be just right as well. It could be that the moon rises too far west or too far south which means the moon will be either right behind the mountain or already way above it by the time it perfectly aligns. Nonetheless, all my effort and planning turned out to be worth it in the end! I got the shot and what an amazing photo it turned out to be! I’m definitely going to get this one printed for my own walls. For me, this was a once in a lifetime experience 🏔️🌕
Had a blast staying up way past my bedtime to capture the amazing lightshow presented by and this year! This was the best firework show I have ever seen here in Seattle!! Cheers to 2023 🥂
