Bruno tiene autismo. Es algo que muy pocas personas conocían hasta ahora. No lo he contado antes por muchas razones, la primera porque no he querido y sobretodo porque no me sentía preparada para hacerlo. Y no me sentía preparada porque me ha costado aceptar que a mi hijo le pasaba algo, que era “diferente” a los demás.
Después de pasar el proceso de aceptación pasé por la fase del duelo, que para mí y para cualquier mamá azul es la más larga y dolorosa.. la fase en la que tienes que asumir que ese hijo “ perfecto” con el que has estado soñando tanto tiempo no existe…te sumerges en un pozo de preocupaciones y de dudas sobre un mundo que desconoces por completo y del que solo te informan en 5 min en una consulta de neurología. Ahí es cuando empiezas a buscar culpables, que porqué ha pasado, genética, si hiciste algo mal en el embarazo, etc…y te machacas innecesariamente. Te planteas que porqué te tiene que pasar a tí, que porqué no tienes un “hijo normal” como todos los demás o como tus conocidos.
En ese momento tu mundo se para. Y te das cuenta de que las grandes metas y sueños que tenías para tu hijo como colegios bilingües,masters.. pasan a un segundo plano, y que ahora lo único que te preocupa es que tu hijo sea feliz! Que las cosas que para otros nenes son normales son metas para ti y que si el día a día con un nene pequeño es duro con tu hijo es más duro todavía. Y que no quieres que se sepa por protegerle de los juicios y comentarios de los demás…
Yo ya he superado el duelo, he aceptado la condición de Bruno y me siento preparada para hablar de ello y gritar al mundo entero que Bruno tiene autismo, y puedo decirlo por fin sin que me salten las lágrimas!! (han tenido que pasar muchos meses para esto)….
