I normally spend less than ยฅ1000 (about 8.9 USD) when I go to Kura Sushi, but my friends and I wanted to do a ยฅ2000 challenge to see how much we could eat.

Shrimp Tempuraโ shrimp dipped in tempura batter and deep fried until crispy. ๐ค

Both shrimp tempura and udon are delicious on their own, but taste amazing when combined together! ๐คฉ
You can also serve the shrimp tempura with rice to make tendon (ๅคฉไธผ)! Tempura over rice is delicious.
Tempura udon is very popular not only among people living in Japan, but also people who come to visit Japan. ๐ฏ๐ต
TIP: make sure to dip the shrimp into the batter right before deep frying, and also that the batter is cold. These are crucial for crispy tempura.
Please use the leftover tempura batter for other ingredients such as eggplant if you want to!
