My latest piece, a self-portrait with Azul, came together last night. This was definitely a labour of love with the incredible amounts of time, effort, and focus that went into creating this 2 x 3 foot painting. I’ve already promised my new dog, Tinker, that I’ll paint a piece with her and I as well…after all this is my third piece with Azul, and Tinker needs to be celebrated too!
My next pieces may be the Monster Series I have in the pipeline with Universal Studios… ❤️🖖

This is not about Star Trek, though I first met Laz in 2019 when I attended one of the STLV Star Trek parties as a Celebrity Guest. Laz was kind and at some point in the party asked me if he could get me something to drink. As someone who rarely partakes in alcohol, I let him know that all I really wanted was some water. Laz told me he’d get me some and disappeared through the thick crowd towards the bar. I didn’t see Laz again until at least 30 minutes later, when he showed up with a cold bottle of water. I thanked him and said that I was surprised that the bar had taken that long. At this point he admitted that he had gotten through the line at the bar only to be told that they did not serve water. So Lax went hunting and found a place in the Rio that did. I couldn’t believe he had gone through so much trouble to get me something water, and I told him so, thanking him for his kindness. Laz responded, “ My mama raised me right.” And she did.
Over the next 7 years that I knew Laz, I observed him being consistently kind and introspective. I admired how much he loved his late mother and who he tried to be in the world.
Laz’s death, still early and raw, has been difficult for those who loved him. And because of who Laz was, there are likely to be many who did. To all of you, I send my love, just as Laz would have if he were still here to share it. ❤️🖖
