Lordt, my nervous system needed this reset. Please get yourself a nervous system tune up soon! You deserve it. 😘

And also, get yourself to the pop up over on Plum Island ASAP, right near the main entrance. I got the island gal smoothie and it was beyond amazing. I can’t wait to go back over and over again this summer. ☀️Thanks for sharing about it!
We have kept a garden since Maggie was 2. So, for 10 years now! It has been something that has brought us so much joy in so many ways. From watching the kids grab a chunk of chives right off the plant and chomp away as they walk around the backyard, to asking them to go out and cut some basil to add to a salad, to watching an unexpected pumpkin grow, to sharing cucumbers and tomatoes with friends and neighbors, and tasting the goodness of growing food ourselves—this is something Colin and I are both so proud of. The kids, too! We’re not professionals, but we learn more and more each year.

This year we found a new spot to get our veggies and flowers: Anything Grows in Salisbury, MA. A certified organic, no-till market garden and plant nursery. We went this past weekend and had fun picking out our garden vegetables and herbs (we didn’t do our seedlings this year, because LIFE, amirite?) and flowers for our pots we put out on our deck. 🌸 The owners Maura and Rijk were so lovely and super helpful and they had a ton in stock. Highly recommend you checking them out!

📍: 30 Elmwood Street Salisbury, MA
🕥: Farm stand open daily 10am-7pm self service cash or Venmo (stocked with seasonal produce, eggs, and flowers). Plant nursery Mon-Fri 10am-6pm, Sat-Sun 10am-4pm.

And shout out to the amazing who built our garden beds! She is so knowledgeable and talented. She’s working on one more bed for us now and we can’t wait to expand the garden! 🪴🌱
No one told me
that having three kids requires
splitting my heart into thirds
and letting the pieces roam around
in three different directions—
AT THE SAME TIME.

No one told me
that these three beings
would have three big needs—
AT THE SAME TIME.

No one told me
that each big need would require
a high level of attention, focus,
love, care, understanding,
empathy, and action—
AT THE SAME TIME.

No one told me
they won’t do it on purpose,
need all of me at once.
Life will just happen that way.
And it won’t stop me from
helping them—
AT THE SAME TIME.

No one told me that three kids
would drain me and fill me up—
AT THE SAME TIME.

No one told me three kids would
exhaust me and energize me—
AT THE SAME TIME.

No one told me that I could hold
it all for all three—
AT THE SAME TIME.

No one told me I could be
strong and meek,
sure and unsure,
confident and insecure,
content and anxious,
brave and nervous—
AT THE SAME TIME.

No one told me I could
have no clue what I’m doing
but that I could try my best
to figure it out—
AT THE SAME TIME.

No one told me I could be love and fear—
AT THE SAME TIME.

♥️
Our getaway for my 40th was a blast! ✨

I wanted to get away.
I wanted to celebrate.
I wanted to feel warmth.
I wanted a change of scenery.
I wanted to be with my husband & kids.
I decided to add in some fun at Disney because… why not?

Disney with kids ages 12, 10, and 8 was a dream!
I’m not a perfect mother. I never have been, never will be. None of us are, are we? But we’re all just doing our best to raise children who are happy and loved, while staying sane, happy, and loved ourselves.

I know that I couldn’t do this journey alone. I’m so grateful for the moms I go to. The ones who will tell me I’m doing a good job while I cry. The ones I can text or call right away with an emergency or when I screw up. The ones who love my kids like their own. The ones who accept and celebrate my kids—with all their individual quirks and unique ways—just as they are. The ones who carpool, who check in, who show up.

I’d be lost without all the other moms surrounding me. Happy Mother’s Day to you all! ♥️
It often feels like life is moving too quickly.

And it’s not that I wanna keep my kids small, or go back in time—I love where we’re at!—it’s just that I want it to slow down.

Everything is always speeding.

I just want it to slow down.

Is that so much to ask??

I want to be able to process one experience before we dive into the next.

I want to be able to sit down at the table and eat dinner together without having to rush off to a drop off or pick up.

I want to be able to feel like I can take a deep breath in between tasks.

I want to be able to settle my mind instead of it constantly replaying the ten things I’m trying to remember at once.

I want to *just* make breakfast, or *just* fill out that form, or *just* answer that person’s question via text, or *just* help with homework—not make breakfast while filling out the form as I offer hw support and text them back.

I want to be able to feel free instead of handcuffed to a schedule.

I want to feel zero pressure about signing up for another damn thing.

I want to be able to be bored together, go at a leisurely pace, take a beat, do something on a whim. I want to NOT RUSH. I want to take a slow walk, a long drive, an off-routine adventure.

I want to look at the clock and think, “oh, we have some time” instead of “shit, we’re late, let’s go.”

But I guess the point is, we do have time, and we don’t have time. We have time now because we’re here. Living, breathing, with beating hearts in our chest. But we don’t know how much that is. So, this is my reminder to myself—if I want time to slow down, I have to find a way to make it. I have to find a way to live more intentionally or to make room for moments of peace and calm.

I don’t know how to do it, but I’m gonna try to figure it out. Will report back.

(I will say—pretending you’re a kid again at Disney with your kids is a great off-routine FUN adventure to be had!)
Thank you for all the birthday wishes! I loved hearing from so many wonderful people in my life! We’ve escaped to Florida for a few days of fun!☀️
My two best friends surprised me from New York at dinner tonight and I was SHOCKED! I still can’t even believe it. I am so lucky. 🥹 These women are my sisters, my family. I’ve known Heather since we were 3 and Mary since we were 11. We’ve been in this best friend game a WHILE. We’ve been through it all. They show up for me whenever I need them—in big ways or small. I am so so so lucky to have them and so immensely grateful, too.

Thank you, for arranging this and for the rest of my siblings for making this amazing meal happen! A dinner with you would have been fabulous in and of itself, Meg, but Mar and H were the cherries on top!

Last few days in my 30’s. Friday, I take on 40! Ready to celebrate! 🎉⭐️
My first book, SUMMER BREAKDOWN, is a love letter to the people who have lost themselves within someone or something else. The people who have taken on identities and roles that they never intended to be swallowed by. The people who have let other people tell them who they are or how they feel. The people who’ve fought for themselves, who’ve clawed their way back to themselves, and who’ve become whole again because they’ve never given up on themselves.

Themes/topics you can find in SUMMER BREAKDOWN:
—Going home again
—Memories for millennials
—Estranged family, dying father
—Broken mother/daughter relationship
—Complicated sister relationship
—A family tainted by alcoholism
—Generational trauma
—Mental health struggles
—A charming Massachusetts beach town
—Unearthed grief from the past
—Big family secret revealed
—First love returns
—Raising yourself while raising young kids
—Marriage and parenting
—Seeing the humanity in each other
—Realizing your parents are imperfect humans
—Main character buried under the load of motherhood
—Disconnected from who she is
—Journey back home to one’s self

If any of this interests you ⬆️ please consider giving SUMMER BREAKDOWN a try! Or tell a friend!

Always grateful to you, for this beautiful trailer! ✨
I wanted to write a book where moms/parents could feel seen. I wanted to write a story that could be (hopefully) entertaining and emotionally rich for anyone who read it—parents or not. I wanted people to be able to see themselves in someone within the story. To feel the pain and heartache and love of this cast of characters.

But before all that—I JUST wanted it to be a real book.

I JUST wanted people to read it.

So thank you. From the bottom of my heart—thank you so much for reading it. Thank you for posting about it, sharing pictures on social media, telling friends about it, buying it. Thank you for giving me a chance. Thank you for supporting my dream. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 💓
