This is my gorgeous cousin Jordana who is also a hairdresser so I was even more desperate to achieve what she wanted. The first part was filmed in her first appt as I forgot to film the before yesterday but you get the gist.
1) scalloping technique with ✂️ to get rid of some serious weight and also to release that natural wave and set them freeeee
2) back to back teasy lights wirh blondorplex and 4% at back, 6% at front. Gotta remove some old colour here so slow and steady wins the race
3) root shadow of 6/0 CT and mid lengths and ends 8/35 and 8/43 could definitely do with some 7/37 next time to bring it down a tad in depth
4) bounciest of blowdries by our best 🫶🏼
We kept it soft and bright with face-framing highlights, subtle lowlights for depth, and a full bounce blow dry to finish.

- First of all CLEAR your column (I only did one other client that day)
- strand test to see what lies beneath (we found henna in the last few inches which went green with prelightner)
- do the pull test to see if the hair can handle the lightening
- manage expectations as it’s not going to be perfect
- remove build up by applying prelightrned (feather up to the natural hair so it’s easier to blend out again)
- slow and steady wins the race - we’re aiming for level 8 so just start with 4% and build up to 6%
- lift the natural hair with permanent colour as lightening with bleach isn’t always necessary
- go deeper on the roots to avoid any glow and also for a nice soft transition of colour
- even out any banding with toning (preferably an acidic base) and then finish off with a true semi like pigmented mask and recommend some really good aftercare
- pray to the hair gods 🤭🙏
