This day, 2yrs ago, I uprooted myself to start a life in a new country. The bargain? leave everything behind and start fresh with 4 bags. I left my beloved friends, my family, our beautiful house, our lovely neighborhood, neighbors and of course, my beautiful city, Bangalore and the town I will forever love - Kotagiri.
I am blessed and thankful to God that my lovely wife and my baby made it here in a year. I would have gone crazy otherwise.
Not a day goes by when I don’t miss my life back home. The endless conversations sitting on the couch, the midnight meets, the motorcycle rides with my biker brothers, the car drives to Tribal cafe, midnight chai runs to Chai Point and Chaipedia, Scarlet- my second home and of course the South Indian food. It feels like a big part of my life was taken away from me.
A lot of people think we have a fantastic life here, we’re enjoying - ultra pro max. I’m not saying no, life is great, the grass is certainly greener on these pastures. But that’s not the whole story. The loneliness and depression is real, We have maybe 4-5 friends here, we barely go out and we live under constant stress of changing visa rules, our entire time is consumed by cooking, cleaning, laundry, groceries - repeat. It’s kinda crazy.
However - God has been so so so good to us and keeps us running. We’re so grateful.
Anyway, my point is - I love & miss you guys so much. I can’t wait to meet y’all and give you a big tight hug. I will cry, but I don’t care.

But it didn’t come easy. I’ve taken really good care of this baby over the past 15 months. Watering, fertilizing, repotting, misting, wiping leaves - everything. It has also seen some crazy #texas storms too.

I don’t do this every week but we had a relaxing long weekend and I felt like doing this.
Waking up to a clean desk the next day calms me down instead of getting an anxiety attack looking at a cluttered desk.

Thank you for being there for me, for tolerating the annoying, sometimes hyper, mostly lazy, ADHD ridden and carefree overgrown 5yr old that I am.
