🚲 PREVENT E-BIKE ACCIDENTS
The increased convenience and speed offered by e-bikes and scooters brings the possibility of serious or life-threatening injuries. Local law enforcement has reported an increase in e-bike-related accidents in our community.

Parents, make sure your children know the rules of riding an electric vehicle to help keep them safe on the road.

Under California law, anyone riding a motorized vehicle should not ride recklessly (VC §23103) or at an unsafe speed (VC §23109). E-bike riders should always have both wheels on the ground, hands on the handlebars, and your body on the seat as they travel at a safe speed. If used incorrectly, e-vehicles can be impounded and will require expensive fines to be returned.

📝 POETRY IN MOTION
A fifth grade class from Clovis Elementary wrote a poetry book together, that was featured at the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools' Young Author's Faire! The students, taught by Leticia Robles, started by visiting the National Steinbeck Center, a literacy museum in Salinas, to learn about literature and the power of an author's voice in their writing. They then wrote their own poems in various styles, from haikus to acrostic. They also learned to use digital tools like Canva to design and publish their written works.

"What is so special about this book is that it includes poems about so many different topics ranging from professional athletes, fictional characters to favorite seasons, sibling, pets, nature, Star Wars, and more," said Robles. "No two pieces are alike, but throughout every page the authors’ personality truly shine through."

The class put their poems together into one book to present at the Faire, held at the Fresno Fairgrounds. Great work, Jaguars!
